Does your company still have one? Is alcohol involved? Any good memories or stories to tell?

Hubby's unit always has a Christmas party for the kids...I bet you that the 1st SGT will be asking SSG to play Santa again.....nothing better than seeing the kids faces when Santa walks in....

We have a couple parties. One for the management team and one for everyone. Their OK to attend but nothing really. In fact I've never really worked for anyone who had great Christmas parties...I think I've been missing out...

We always throw one for our employees and we are a small company. I usually do all the cooking and everything. I always hope for fun, but someone always has to complain and ruin it.
But we do a gift exchange and someone always gets a naughty gift. We drink but of course responsibly. Maybe this year we can have actual FUN!

I work for a worldwide company. Two thousand employees in the Boston office alone. Every year for the past 19 years I have worked for the company, they have always had a black tie holiday party. All is paid for by the company. The party has several food stations, open bar 7 to midnight and a live band. They also give out cab vouchers for those too drunk to drive home.

On Friday we received an e-mail from the Chairman telling us all holiday parties would be cancelled this year due to the economic climate. Instead they would be donating $1.5 million to local food banks, shelters and organizations. This is not because our company is in a financial crisis, far from. They felt it was too extravagent in comparison to what our clients are doing for the holidays this year.

I think it's a great idea. Although I'll miss buying my party shoes...

Stella, if they change their mind and you need a date, let me know, I'd love to go to a 1.5mil holiday party!

No silly! It's all the holiday parties combined, not just Boston. But my shoes would be worth a date! :ok
