View Full Version : Remember me on sign in?

Despite my numerous attempts to remember me on login, I'm still having problems.

1.) When I come back to the site, my user name is never remembered so I have to log in from scratch.

2.) Even after I log in, it appears like I'm not logged in and can't get anywhere. I can see my user name in the logged in list on the home page but the name does not appear in the header to the site and the forums are not displayed.

What I end up doing is log in, click on my name in the logged in user list. Since I'm a newbie, I get the error that I can't look a profiles but then can access the forums.

I don't have cookies turned off and no blockers are installed.

What am I doing wrong? Sometimes I feel clueless. May be I am!

I've had problems similar to these on IE, but they went away when I switched to using Firefox as my browser for this site...hope you get it fixed.

I've used Firefox since it was first beta and it's kept updated so I don't know what's different. Thanks for the tip, fever.

So, Lena, seeing you've answered this thread, I assume you are aware of this. Should I email you directly too? Hate to dump unnecessary email in your inbox. :sc

Yes, it's ok, you can email anything you are confused or have a problem with!

Hmmm ... now this is odd. I've actually made it to the 150 posts. Haven't received the secret handshake yet so I can view profiles and all that other neat stuff.

Yes, now when I sign in, my login is saved and I don't have to go through the whole ordeal to actually post.

Just sayin' ....

I do not use the remember me option...just in case.

My experience with the "remember me" option is that my login will not timeout. Without "remember me" I will get auto logged out after some time with no activity.
