As some of you may have noticed I upon occasion have an opinion ona topice that I feel needs to be expressed....
Often said opinion is in no way to be considered pertinent nor of a serious nature. It is with those thoughts in hand (because it has been questioned whether my mind functions or not) that I submit to you this thread. It is a happy place where EVERYONE can pop in and express an opinion about ANYTHING......
BUT REMEMBER!!!!! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so if you agree with something rep the poster, if you DISAGREE so what? NO ARGUEMENTS PLEASE!!!!

I believe that an arguement is pretty much what Zif said, with yelling, name-calling and interrupting thrown in. A debate is how grown-ups are supposed to discuss a difference of opinion, not to persuade the other that your opinion is right and theirs is wrong, but to explore the positive side of each.

The purpose of an argument and a debate is the same --- to convince the other side that your point of view is correct (it's not about discussion, it's about convincing). The only difference is in the boundaries.

Theres English Football taking up to much TV time, but your football is like our rugby, totally different, but theres enough ball kicking going on in the world causing all sorts of problems between fans.

Cable News seems obsessed with this Natalie Holloway Aruba incident. It's obviously a tragic circumstance and was news for a week or two. But tragic circumstances happen every day. They need to move on to something where there's been a significant development.
I'm also irritated with some in the news media that seem to think they are professional criminal investigators capable of discerning what happened without access to the evidence....... and I'm even more irritated with law enforcement 'experts,' who have no involvement in the case, that appear on programs and criticize what those that do without enough information to have an opinin worth listening to.

Been thinking about this case with the woman teacher that wasn't prosecuted for consensual sex with a 14 year old male student. I don't think anybody in their right mind has any use for sexual predators, but I'm not so sure about 16 being the appropriate age of censent. I've been in countries where it's not uncommon for girls to get married at 13 and 14 years old.
If you're gonna do it though, it certainly doesn't hurt to be a good looking female.

very unsteady. I should have said extremists Im sorry. It comes to something when they come over here get homes, jobs, then blow up innocents. Im so so angry at Tony Blair for his " Human Rights" because its this they harp on when they get caught, and our judges cannot do a thing. PM Blair is too soft with them, and will not throw them out for fear of retaliation, from the muslim majority. Our laws in the UK are too soft we need a new government and tougher stance. I know that Blair is in with Bush, its a delicate subject politics, but we need something to sort out this problem the world over before Iran blows us all to bits.
