I ran across this short aritcle on my yahoo home page and it captured my attention.

Are you living a good life? If not why, what's keeping you from it? Do you think it possible or is it just a myth? If you're not and want to when will you get started? What would motivate you? Does the phrase, "living in the moment" have any meaning to you? Can you relate to it?

What do you think about these three " amazing tips"? Are you there? Do you even wanna be?

Okay before you tell me there's too many questions...please don't. They're NOT intended to be answered as a list, only to create some thought and therefore inspire some discussion on your feelings about the study and how it applies to you and your life.

sad truth is money hinders me from living the good life. Then comes into the equation is circumstance [unforeseen health issues related to family members] and last but not least I find location a big factor[ distance from those that make me happy to be around].

I so look forward to the day I retire ..I have a 20 year plan to find my good life

I should add..when I do get holidays I make the most of them...so thats one month a year I do live the good life

Am I living the good like....hmmmmm

First I would have to define "good".

I belive I am...but I also believe that the very best is yet to come. I arise each day proud of what I've been able to accomplish thus far, and very hopeful of the time yet to come.
Has it all been "roses"?? Oh hell, no. But the problems along the way have been overcome....others that occur will be also. And I suppose therein lies the challenge.

In comparison to others in this world...I am wealthy and "living the good life" almost beyond their comprehension. To others, I'm but a dot...a blip...or don't even make their "radar screen".

All well and good; I'm happy where I am, and am positive more happiness will come my way.

There are 6 billion people on the planet...I live a good life compared to about 95% of them so in that regard, yes, I am living well.
In the begining, getting married was a step forward into a happiness I always wondered about but had thought beyond me...as time has gone by, my personal happiness has disolved for many reasons but the need to regain it by moving on is over shadowed by the sense of commitment I now have to my children...how to regain personal happiness..a good life..without inflicting pain on them...thats what prevents me doing something I know would bring a good happy life within reach once again...there would be no winners either way- staying or going...

Probably a fairly common conflict among many here and elsewhere.

Hmmm - the good life

I live in a lovely, rural part of Illinois. I can hunt, fish hike, play with my dog whenever I wish (within season limits, of course). I pursue my passions; writing, choral singing, community theater. I have the love of a wonderful woman (meeeeeeeeoooowww!). Every day is a new adventure.

Yes, I have truly found the good life.

Like Sigeon said, compared to a lot of other people on this planet I have a GREAT life. I have a job I very much enjoy but takes a LOT of time and work. I am able to take care of myself and my family...although in this economy for all of us there are challenges. I worked hard to get where I am and I'm proud of some of the things I've acheived....

But now, the thing I feel I lack is time. A lot of my family lives far away and it's difficult to get that important time together. I work long days. I miss the control I used to have over my time and my personal life. I'd like to travel more.

As I sit here and think though....some of this stuff is still in my control, it's just more challenging than it used to be. We only get one life and as we get older it goes faster and faster and it's important to live the way you want to when you are healthy and you can.

Good thread OAK.
