Well, before I started having both kinds myself, I would've said real life. But I now would add a qualifier - it doesn't matter if it's cyber or 'real' it's the emotional attachment that is the killer. Not the sex.

OK... my wife has done both (long before I found this site) and I have to say that the face to face thing was a more immediate and intense hurt. But then again by the time she started in with the guy on-line our marriage was nothing but a shell anyway....

I think in person is worse, because you have to scheme and lie to get time with your lover. A cyber affair isn't as easily discovered, and less hurt is involved

Neither is good - both direct sexual and romantic energy away from the marriage. On that basis, I'd say a real life affair is worse, as it requires a lot more time and energy. There is also the chance of bringing home a little something to share, like an STD.

Other than the obvious risk or STD , or pregnancy .. which ya only get with the real deal .. its a lot like asking which is worse ... stickin this knife in the right side of your heart , or the left .. either way , its gonna hurt like hell , and you may not ever be able to repair the damage its gonna do.

Will it make you more upset if your spouse was having a cyber affair or a real life affair?

Cyber affairs usually do not include physical sexual activity, but can involve cyber sex. If you quantify that as cheating then I do not see why one would be considered worse or more upsetting then the other. It still involves breaking the lines of trust between you and your spouse.
