I am taking my kids to Disney Land !! I have never been , so I am excited too !!

Last year we camped on south Carlsbad beach for a week, hit Disneyland, Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, The High Desert, Grand Cranyon, Petrified Forrest
OMG I was so glad to get home.

The lines at Disneyland were horrrible, so many freakin people, so many rude people. LOL on our way out of Disney I got into a fight with this Oriental chick on the tram lololol. I'm tellin ya the Oriental people were the rudest crowd I've ever encountered. I've been to Disneyworld, and personally I like Orlando better. One tip is make sure all your kids are tall enough to ride all the rides, sucks to stand in line for over an hour and then one of them not be able to ride it. Another thing is the Express tickets, you get them and you don't spend your time standing in line, you can go right to the head of the line at your appointed time.

Seaworld was fun, the kids really liked the San Diego Zoo. The grand canyon was amazing, I remember it from when i was a kid. My kids were totally bored after the first five minutes. My 12 yr old said ok lets go, i've seen it, it's a big hole lol sheeeesh im like shut up and just pretend like your having fun lol. They soon figured out how to have fun, they learned quickly that mom freaks out over heights. Oh hell why should it bother me that there wasn't a lot of railing and it was a long way down. Damn kids!

My kids had the most fun at the beach, absolutely the best time. They still talk about the jellyfish and boogy boarding. The water is freezing burrrrr but ya get used to it.

Summer is my husband's busiest time at work, so we don't usually go anywhere while school is off. That's why we decided a couple of years ago to make our backyard our sort of summer getaway. We put in a pool, a climber/sandbox for our son and redid our deck with a gazebo and really comfy patio furniture. We host alot of parties over the summer and our friends and family know they're always welcome at any time of day to drop in.

Last year we rented a condo on the beach at Okaloosa Island (Florida panhandle).

Did absolutely nothing for a week but sun, swim, drink and sleep. The kids jumped between the condo building's pool (between the condo and the sand) and the beach all day, everyday.

Loved it so much we are doing it again this May and I can't wait.

Hot Springs is great.....was there last summer with my daughter and my parents. Temps were over 100 degrees though....my god I almost melted. We toured the old bath houses.....really pretty.

The Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert are both worthy destinations....we went through there several times going back and forth to Cali...one of the most beaufiful and spiritual places on earth, to me...Enjoy!

My summer is going to start out very rough. This is when I will be leaving my husband and my marriage and my life for the last 12 years. Where I go still depends on the "wild card". What I hope will be my summer vacation will be the feeling of warm sand at my feet, kite flying on warm breezy days, kicking back, and trying not to stress to much about the new scenery and newfound independance. My summer is going to start out very rough. This is when I will be leaving my husband and my marriage and my life for the last 12 years. Where I go still depends on the "wild card". What I hope will be my summer vacation will be the feeling of warm sand at my feet, kite flying on warm breezy days, kicking back, and trying not to stress to much about the new scenery and newfound independance. This summer will be a test of my ability to make it on my own and support my child. Either way, he will be well taken care of.......it is the "wild card" that will determine the rest.

All inclusive is the way to go. I've been to Cancun a couple of times although since I like getting naked on the beach or at the pool, I prefer the clubs in the islands. Jamaica has several nice ones, Hedonism if you're looking to get rowdy, Grand Lido if you want something a little quieter and upscale and Jamaica Jamaica if you want something in between. If you're going with someone both Sandals and Couples are nice as well.

Very true. When I went I was practically a kid. Did you ever see the movie Captain Ron? If not then you have to watch it before you go. This could be a good experience for you and your daughter to really bond. No other boys or anything to get in the way.
