Just signed up today, and I'm wondering what kind of interaction this site generally leads to. Is it generally the correspondence posted on message boards or have many people connected on an individual level and have one-on-one email/IM chats? Any face-to-face meetings? Just wondering what I can expect on the site....

Welcome to the site. I have been trying for over two years and only managed a couple of rather tame PM's.

But I keep persisting and one day I will hit the jackpot I'm sure :ok

It really works best if you post for a bit, get to know people, see who you like & who you hit it off with and take it from there. After 500 posts you'll be able to PM. There's a chat room too for IM chats & people do connect on email. Some have met too.

The best newbie advice I can give is...don't be a douche. Women can detect one a mile away, and many of the fellas around here will ridicule you to no end if you come across in douchebag ways. As far as success stories, if you make friends and have fun, it is a success. Anything else is gravy.

since I have been here I have made some really incredible friends...

*there is that one guy who flirted with me from day one.. while our "relationship" never really got a good foothold.. he will always be my friend.. he supported me when things got really rough for me.. and I supported him when things got really, really bad for him.. while we can't talk now, I know one day our friendship will continue..

*the two men I fell in love with.. one is still a friend.. we don't talk as much because he and another friend of mine are madly in love and making a future together.. I have supported this because I am so glad to see two people I care about in love and so very happy - this one I had met and he and I had a wonderful weekend together before his world came crashing down.. and we had to part.. almost 2 months later

the other I don't talk to anymore.. but he will always hold a place in my heart... and we both know that if one of us needs the other.. all we have to do is call..

*my best friend I met on this site.. she is no longer here while she is trying to sort her life out.. but we still talk everyday.. and we still are there for each other..

*there are many friends I text with, email with, or IM with.. perhaps not daily.. but continually.. I have met many people as they pass through Atlanta.. had drinks at the airports with a few while they were on layovers.. etc..

so no matter what you are looking for.. it can happen here... just be patient..
