View Full Version : Do you have a "website spouse" ?

If you've worked in an office, you've probably heard the term "office spouse". This is the person at the office you really click with, share, joke, etc... but one that is usually nonsexual. For those veterans here, have you seen those types of relationships develop on this site? Where you might not meet in person, but you have a connection with one particular individual, and that develops into more of a one-to-one thing that is separate from the group dynamic on this site?
I'm not asking for names or specifics, I'm just curious of those types of relationships have developed here.

I have a few friends that I talk to in chat about non-site stuff and site stuff. One in particular that is becoming a great friend, he & I don't post that much around each other on the site at all. And my best friend on here, Ricki, and I are almost never on here at the same time anymore, so all we do is talk outside of here. Can I make her my site-spouse? Please? Then she can do my laundry and cook dinner??

Yes, I have a few, actually. We keep in touch by phone, text, or email..generally on what amounts to a daily basis. Over the past year+, we've been there for each other through happy times and sad. Sometimes it's just a "Hi, hope you have a good day"...sometimes more, the things that go way below a surface relationship.
Though I met them here, none are greatly involved with the site anymore, but I'll always be thankful for two things, especially...that this site afforded me the opportunity to meet them and that my husband is aware of and understanding about the friendships.
They'll probably never see this but my life is richer for having true friends such as these guys...I love you.
