Hmmm.... I think it would break down like this:

All except one of my female friends would think I'm an asshole because of women's general (well, ostensibly general) pro-commitment views. One of my best female friends is a lesbian and very open minded and tends to not be so judgemental despite having been in a commited relationship for over 15 years.

I think a lot of my male friends who are without steadys in their life would disapprove because they seem to envy that I have found someone. Some of the single friends who just enjoy being single would be split: some would approve (the wild ones) and some would not (the more or less prude but afraid of commitment types.) My actual best friend is single and enjoys being so and passes no judgements whatsoever. He just generally supports anything I do (although I am not sure that is such a good thing...)

Many marriages are what you make them and for many there is self made complacency or neglect shown by one or both. As you age the sensitivity and realization becomes refined and unless you enter a site like M&F, the complacency will be tolerated as many look back at their marriage vows..and feelings of what should be and could be are suppressed for the most part.

I am so sorry for anyone whose life ends so young especially to cancer, a disease not easily understood as to the why's and how's ...so my feelings are that if I have to go in this manner...it is for a purpose and I will await the next life with a smile as I get there.

Knowing we will no longer be here can also make us feel we are are saying all the right things when we say we are sorry...because others have not lived the lives we have lived and will not understand....and we need forgiveness as we go to an unknown place for our next life.
