so the question seems to be not what bike is a true american bike -- but what bike feels better when you ride it --- has to be the harley for a short quickie -- but having had bikes of all types since 8yrs old --- the harley rumbels better --- but comes at the price of falling apart -- and you girls will have to help push it back to the shop when it falls apart -- the indian is a smoother & longer vibe for you ladies -- and you will get to go argggggggggh before the machine breaks --- so get on ladies - lets ride

So then what you are saying is that the Harley is "high maintenance"? Well that's something I can relate to on a personal level.

... By the way so are limousines, more or less depending on the coach builder.

I had a 125 cc bbSA Bantam when I met chris in the 60s, we went miles on that, then I brought a 35o cc single AJS,after passing my test, had it a couple of years and sold it for a fiver as i was fed up with punctures in the tyres, and the rear chain slipping off oh how i wished I had kept it. From a 350 cc I went to a 600cc BSA Gold Star, had that for 3 years, then had a nasty accident with a London double decker bus, after that it took many years to build my confidence up. I went on to buy a 100 cc Sukuki trials bike to build my confidence, I had that 18months, and went on to a red and white Yamaha 250 cc touring machine with a white fairing and side panniers and top box, a lovely bike even came to Norfolk on it in 1976 when we had the petrol strike. Shortly after I sold it and brought a 400cc. Had that 8 months sold it and brought a car, and that was the end of my motorcycle days

I have a Yamaha TW200 but I want to sell it and get regular dirt bike. Mine is ok but to squirrly in the dirt. Hubby wants me to get a 4-wheeler. Not likely.

I have always had motorcycles from a Honda 50cc when I was eight to my intruder I ride today. Love the freedom and dont see ever giving it up. Now add a gorgeous rider on the back with her arms wrapped tightly around and its pretty much the greatest!!!!

If hubby thinks that they are safer... they are not! We almost lost my cousin's little boy on one of those. He was on it and ran into a barbed wire fence and it almost cut through a major artery. He was covered in stitches, all over his chest neck, arms, and a few on his face. Granted it was unsafe riding but I'd still stick to a dirt bike than one of those anyday! The balance is different.

After I was thrown from my cousins motorcycle when I was 10 in the middle of winter I haven't been able to get on one just to ride a short ways...although my husband wants one I might give in and ride on someday.

You know I can understand that. I almost drown when I was a kid so I never learned to swim until about 2 years ago. The thing is, would you never get in a car if you had been hurt in a car accident? We can't run from a hurt just because it happened and we can let one incident rule our lives. Granted, I really didn't need to learn how to swim and you don't need to ride a motorcycle. But if we can learn to conquer the stuff that seems big to us... the little crap won't matter as much.

Anything you do can be dangerous. I have a scar running across my head from walking through a barb wire fence, my son broke an arm falling off the equipment at school and his wrist when riding his bike. You can get hurt doing almost anything the secret is you have to pay attention to your surrondings. I believe in pre-destination, so enjoy life. When it is your time to go it will happen whether you are riding a motorcyle or getting out of bed.

" Whats a beemer" ahh the gold wing, yes his bike was a lovely machine, he even had a intercom from him to his passenger, a Radio too, hell now if I was a driver I think I would get one of those espicially for the spring and Summer months down here, but the winter I would have a car, still we all have dreams I suppose.

there Both American made both use the same styal frames Now if your asking what one would you own a Harley but if I had the chanse to Buy a Indain Chef 1958 that be a difrent story, But there Both true american bikes but the Indain 1999 to 2006 just dont cut the mustard.
