Site Troubles

I have been getting messages that the site has been acting up as far as going down or running slow. I just talked to the company that host this site. www.webair.com (http://www.webair.com) They say it looks fine, if you experiance problems please tell us here and I will keep them posted. Plus they wont think I'm nuts everytime I tell them;)

I've never been "booted" off your site. If people are experiencing slow loading, their system may have spyware, or malware, causing the slowdown. Dial up internet access is also very prone to phone company problems causing someone to be "booted off", and is not a site problem.

I use a free downloadable program called "AdAware" by LavaSoft, to keep the spyware cleaned off my computer. I use it daily. If anyone wants more information about keeping their computer clean, just send me a message, and I will be glad to assist.

I guess what I am trying to say is; I don't think there is any major problem with your site.

If I ever see anything out of the ordinary, I will let you know. So far, your site has been very reliable, at least from here in Ohio.

The only other problem I see, is the lack of a direct link to private conversations with you. :D When you get that problem fixed, I would certainly like to be informed. :kk

gday geek.. yeh i used adaware for a while... its ok.. but strted using xoftspy... it found things that adaware didnt.. not really free, but i have a crack for it.... use it all the time now..... dont really think the problem is spyware related though.... :wa:

We have not had a problem either and we also find AdAware very helpful. We have cable internet access.

Threads won't load -- then you refresh, and they come up. Some threads hang up on a page, and you can't get past them.

Hello Penny, I only get slow or time out which is a 405, I dont know much about computers but it does seem at times slow sometimes 10am uk time 5 pm usa time, perhaps people logging on,, even today actually 10am uk time again cos my friend noticed as Im selling him this computer, so I did have a witness LOl:wa:

If the IP is a serious outfit, they must have a screen that tells them everything that has been happening on the servers. Usually in the form of a print out...all the IP addresses are on there and they are able to see when a site was down or was not functionning correctly...especially with times we give you.

Complicated to me but they are adding a seperate sever to handle the SQL, whatever that is and the orgional server will do everything else

SQL is the database, where all the information is stored. That will probably make a big difference.
