I didn't get a chance to respond to this post until now.
I'm only speaking for myself, but I'm not big on men with long hair, especially if they're high maintenance. I'm pretty much a wash and go kind of woman, so any guy who takes longer than I do to get ready is off my list!!
I like the character that an older man's face has; the smile lines, the crinkles at the eyes when they smile. You call it craggy Goliad, but I call it ruggedly handsome. I like real men, not pretty boys.
Again, I'm speaking for myself, but I've found most of the women here are married, but even for the few single ones too, I don't think any of us are looking for a real life hook-up from here. WEll, boys and girls, some interesting comments (humorous too). It's odd how older buzzards want to retain their youth, and even odder that any women would find us interesting somehow. I think the "sugar daddy" motive is valid too. It makes no sense to me that any young woman would have an interest otherwise. As far as hair missing on the head, but covering the body, I don't fit that category. I have my hair, thank you, light brown to almost dirty blonde, but with a crew cut for low maintenance. Do women prefer men with longer hair? Some feel turned off by older guys with crew cuts. We also get craggy lookin and tend to be more vocal than we used to be. Mr Goliad...maybe you are looking for someone too young. If your statements reflect the person you are, a woman in her 40's or 50's should be thrilled to have you and if you find the right one she would be willing to be your unattached partner if thats what you are looking for. Just to have a man be so thoughtful and caring is a wonderful thing. A very young woman probably would not appreciate your wisdom.

The reason I am and always have been attracted to men older than myself is- Men that are older seem to be wiser, kinder, patient, and loving. When I was young and thought I was ready to find a partner, I never gave a second glance to the fellows in my age group. They were all babies, not done playing around, not responsible, not even close to being able to carry on a decent conversation.

Thanks, Marycat. Yes, it's possible I would find more in the way of the 40-50+ year old women more in line with my generation of thinking. While a few younger ones might have a passing inquisitive nature, I don't think they would understand somebody like me. Older men, more set in their ways, with the backgrounds of experiences create a sort of chasm, and generation gap that simply does not see things the same way. But, there are always exceptions, and age is not the only factor. Everybody is different. I am amazed at how some younger women find older men attractive, but always alert to the likely possibility their interest involves more than physical love, understanding, and a deep abiding melding of the souls. That is tough for any young women in today's world where we tend to have a rift in generations. I would entertain the notion that a younger women might want to find out things I might know or have experienced. Some might be shocked or turned off by my liberal thinking where sex is concerned. But I am very much a straight man who does not really condone personally alternate lifestyles. It is just not possible to really know a person without something of a long term relationship or intermediate term at least to get to know the inner thinking of the other. Some will walk away, and some may find the whole thing intriguing. Whatever the case, love is a strange thing. But I would agree, the more middle aged woman would be most likely to want possibly a more broad minded set of goals, and experiences of her own to share with a man who lives in a world of changes such that his mind is a whirlwind of windmills churning out words on the basis of a world only HE knew long ago. The romances were at least over 28 years ago, and the long term commitment was, and always will be, to my wife. But our relationship has somewhat slowed to that of a comfortable couple who still love each other, but don't find the words or ability to find the spark of unbridled passion that was love for a period of years. Trying to find that again is much like looking for a needle in the haystack. Now I am reduced to limiting my search for soulmate type affairs on the net only.
