MIGHTY

A truck pulls into the neighbor's drive a little while ago. There is furniture and other junk weighing down the bed. A woman gets out and walks to the front door. I see that she is carrying something....food. She was delivering to them...from where, I'm not sure. But, as she walked away, she continued to talk on her cell phone. My husband could tell by the look on my face that I was disappointed in her behavior. She lingered in the driveway for about three minutes longer with her door ajar and the phone still attached to her ear. Are my expectations to much to think that she shouldn't have her house in the back of her delivery vehicle and not be on her phone at the time of delivery?:nu
Anyway, what kind of bad or rude customer service issues have you all had? Or what was the most insane thing you witnessed another customer doing?:sc

the cell phone is a blessed curse on society. Not only does it enable us to be able to summon help at any time, it also enables us to BE summoned for no real reason at any time. I for one enjoyed the ability to leave and no one know where I was...cut down on the needless emergency call to help some one that didn't think they should pay, with an issue that was NOT a major problem. The key point for me is that I know how to shut the damned thing off. If I need to use it I can always turn it back on and get the voice mail....
the personal touch is gone from the majority of all service these days, which is a sad comentary on an economy that is moving from manufacturing to service related industries don't you think?

I had a women cough on my food while serving it to me yesterday...
I told her to use her hand to cover her mouth...she gave me the dirtiest look and passed me the food with the hand she was asked to use.

The worst part of that scenario is if you had told her that you didn't want that food now because of her coughing all over it, she would have sent it back, possibly they may have made you another serving but who knows what would have been done to that without your knowledge. Service is horrible these days and only getting worse.
I do make a point though to acknowledge people who do give good service. I tell the manager before I leave or I will e-mail the company and let them know. Almost everytime, I get a call or e-mail back acknowledging my praise and 9 times out of 10, the employee gets rewarded. I also e-mail for very poor service also and get calls on that. Boy e-mail is a wonderful thing.

I, too, try to make a point to let management know when I've received really good service. I'm the type of person who doesn't mind tipping really well when I feel that the service I've been given is really good. But I also don't mind leaving a crappy tip when the service is crappy.
And cell phones have completely taken over, I think. People believe that they can't live without them anymore. I wouldn't like living without mine, but I could. (And there are times when I wish I could. I call it my leash because I feel like it allows everybody who knows me the ability to follow me whereever I go...)
Just my two cents... :)

You should have refused to accept it...that is about as unhealty as you can get...when you cough, you spray....so really, she may as well have spit on it...
Cherokee...that is just disgusting...I would have gagged...

I agree that cell phones have taken over. It's a shame that many people just don't use them properly and go to a more private location to make or take their call, don't use a hands free kit if talking while driving. Plus does anyone just ignore the call if it's at a bad time, most of the time, not. :spbx:

I went into a store and the young girl was on the phone with one of her 'friends'. I was looking for something in particular and when I asked the girl, she gave me an evil look and said 'I'm busy, go find it yourself'. I walked out and have never gone back to that store.

I have refused to deal with buisnesses because there drivers have cut me off in traffic. Even called the store to let them know so when you drive an old car like mine you are gonna need auto parts so don't be an ass when driving it could lose you a sale this goes for plubing services and landscapers and any other service that has to drive to in order to make a living! I also make a point of letting places know when I am happy what I have seen em do like the garage that fixed a womans tail light while they were busy workin on a bunch of vehicles ran out and fixed it for no charge. when I asked why they said they were to busy and figured she would remmber the next time she needed it worked on.

I will tip extremely well for good service and very moderate for poor service.
Don't let an employee be rude to me or it's all over, I will not just walk out I will be having a chat with management. Good service will get recognized as well since I really hate the mentality that we only talk about bad behavior and not good.

No doubt! Cell phones have apparently taken away most individuals respect for all others. I can remember sitting down for dinner when I was young and if the phone rang..it simply rang. In essence, if you are eating or having a converation with someone and your cell phone rings and you choose to answer it, you are telling the person who was giving you their undevided attention that the person on your phone is more important than them.
I see it happen every day....serveral times a day. Maybe thats why everyone who calls me seems to complain that they always get my VM. Oh well...

No I use my phone resonably! Not a car phone, or a checkup line phone, talking to someone else phone. It's my phone.!
I hate going through a fast food drive through and not getting even a thank you or come again, much less a napkin,
