I was a fan long ago, when it was WWF and there were the Valiant Brothers, Chief Jay Strongbow, Andre the Giant, Haystacks Calhoun, Killer Khan, the Fuji's, the Somoans, George the Animal Steel, Bruno Sammartino, but I don't follow it all anymore. There was a local place that used to hold the bouts called Jack Witschi's that was a blast to go to. It only held about 500 people, the place was filled with smoke and everybody was drunk, having a good rowdy time.

Was watching it on a spanish channel randomly the other day. Don't speak spanish but it was hilarious! If I was a stoner I'm sure I would've died from laughing too hard.

I use to be a fan of Wrestling years ago. I was a HUGE Dusty Rhodes "The American Dream" fan. My friends gave me a hard time about a picture I had of him hanging in my den. I loved to hear him talk! I haven't watched wrestling in a looooong time.

JYD was entertaining. That's going back a ways though. You guys hear about the whole Chris Benoit killing his family this weekend and then himself today? Takes a sick man to kill an innocent kid.

Yes I remember him. Do you remember when he & his son Kendal were arrested by the Secret Service for making conterfiet $20's and spent a couple of years in prison? That was probably about 15+ years ago.

I used to watch this stuff years ago, but probably wouldn't recognize but about 25% of them if it turned it on now though.

Thought that those that keep up with Hulk Hogan might be interested in this.
His son Nick was injured in a car accident tonight... he was speeding, lost control of his car and hit a tree. He and a passenger were med-flighted out, not releasing their conditions. All they've said so far is that he may have been drag racing.

Don't forget how many wrestlers have been from Alberta!!!! Actually Natallya Neidhart "Jim "the anvil" Neidhart"s daughter is now on Smackdown and from Calgary.....and of course we have Edge...but he's from Ontario not Alberta....oh well....I just wish the WWE would hurry up and get back to doing their west shows again.

I grew up in the wrestling world. My family has been involved since the 40's. I love wrestling but am not liking that the W.W.E has no real competition. I did not like Ted Turner as a owner or Eric Bischoff as a GM. But the competition made the shows better.

I have been watching Raw and Smackdown for the last 5 months. I used to watch when the Hart boys were in it. Starting to really dislike Orton though. I watched Hogan's Celebrity Wrestling it was cool to see how the moves are done and how much pain is actually involved.

OMG, I didn't think anyone here would know what I was talking about if I'd mentioned Mid-South. I loved watching that on Saturday mornings here. Now, my son is a major wrestling freak. He can tell you all the wrestlers "finishing" moves and keep you up to date on all the rivalries. We met Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Dr Death Steve Williams a few years ago.

OMG you know its fake, right?

The moves and falls are real, its just coreographed. People "get hooked" because the story line it follows....kinda like watching an afternoon "soap".

Wrestlers put their bodies through the ringer each and everyday to entertain their veiwers. It takes alot of work just to put on a show one night a week....these guys do it 4 days a week and are on the road 300 days a week.

Yes-----wrestling has been explained as "the male soap opera", though judging by its audience, it's pretty much down the middle.

And, they need a union. What they put their bodies through is unreal.
