I will tell you something that I learned only a few years ago: in so-called "protestant" countries, Good Friday is in many places a public holiday, so is Monday. In so-called "catholic" countries, "Good Friday" is a day that is worked.

Wish we had someone who could explain why this difference.

Don't you think that's pretty original? On the other hand, I would prefer to be paid for getting laid by the lady of my choice, of course.. :D and getting a day off work for that... :lmao

at a guess I would have to say australia is less religious........people here are very laid back about it



I would say France at one stage was very religious...being the abundance of churches they have there.....we were settled by the english and I think bringing religion was never a priority for them.......bring pics of the queen would have been more the norm

I think that the American continent is more religious. The United States is a lot more than many of us in Europe.. When I lived in Spain, I was suprised at the number of people going to mass on Sundays...nada or very few... In Italy, it is the same...and yet in a deeply troubled time...belief in something becomes a necessity and people go back to prayer or believing in something.

What is astounding over here, in France, is the feeling that NO ONE believes in anything. That is the problem COTTIES. :(
