The worst part of this whole idea is that I could usually count on getting it at least half a dozen times a year. On our anniversary, on my birthday, on her birthday, valentines day, and then two other times when I was able to get her liquored up enough that she didn't care. So that still would really only make it once every 2 months but now I think she changed it to every leap year, next it will be every Halleys comet!

When I was first married we had sex several times a day. The most often was 6. That created a problem because she was frustrated because she could not even get the bed made before I got back on her.
As I began to age things have slowed down. In my 40's I was still a 2x a day kinda guy but now that I am starting 50's doing it 2 to 3 times a week is good. Every man has a natural cycle. It is something build into him.
But now I like to take my time and enjoy every little thing. So...I think I am a much better lover for the lady and I now enjoy the hidden things of her heart that is not shared with another. Something so precious it is a secret. Kept in the recesses of the heart.

There are many reasons why I would turn down sex, even if he was rarin to go. I can tell you that the main reason would be an emotional shift in the moment. I had that happen a couple of months ago. I wanted to....he wanted to, but because of certain thoughts and feelings I was having I just couldn't. He was very sweet about it and completely understanding, although I did feel badly about it.

I have it very little. Actually I think I have had it 3 times in the past 18 months with my wife. It usually sucks too. At this point, even if she wanted it, I would make something up to not have it. I would give her the "I'm tired" routine she has given me for years now.
