I use MSN most of the time. Yahoo kicks me out 100 times before it finally lets me stay. I like both MSN and yahoo about the same. I might like yahoo more if it would decide that it wanted to keep me logged in for more than 10 seconds at a time...

George and I are new to the webcam thing, so I don't have any suggestions as far as that is concerned...

Go download Trillian and pay for Trillian Pro. It runs all the messenger programs at once (Yahoo, MSN, AOL, ICQ) and lets video run as well. Basic will run the programs, but no video (and basic is free). GREAT program.

Oh, and I'm on all three, always up for a great chat partner :D

Yahoo has more emoticons and is great for text chatting.

Msn for video calling and webcam chatting and you can group your contacts if you are super organised.

MSN mostly. One of the few that I can get to work through my works firewall. Though, I've gotten Yahoo to work as well, I just prefer MSN. It's the one I've been using for a very long time, so I'm a little adverse to changing to a different one. Though, I used ICQ when it first came out, but that was eons ago.

We use Msn mainly ,and since they have joined and added Yahoo contacts it is the better program ...For Web Camming ,Msn is far superior to Yahoo or ICQ,as it has a faster frame rate and is very smooth,as well u can go full screen..for those special moments ....

I've been using msn for years, I have yahoo too, but I prefer msn. I've had more problems with yahoo than msn. The only thing I don't like about msn is that it doesn't let you have as many contacts as it used to. Now I have to delete contacts in order to add new ones, and I'm down to 154 contacts.

Yahoo seems to be the choice for me and in this poll. I only use Yahoo and MSN, haven't tried the others. Viewed cams in the past on invitation....I don't have one...that was on yahoo and it worked fine.

Actually I think AIM is easiest but they all get the job done. MSN messenger really gets behind sometimes. Yahoo does bounce you out a bit. But they are a nice way to stay in touch with closer friends.

I agree that it is the best way to stay in touch. It's like sitting on a bar stool, having a nice heart to heart or fun loving conversation with your friends. Te closest thing to "being there" without using a phone.

I run Yahoo, AIM and Google Talk for different reasons. AIM is just because it's the only way I can stay in touch with my daughter...teenagers won't look at any other service. We actually use Yahoo for work...we have alot of home office workers and it becomes the equivalent of stopping by someones cube or rapping on their office door. Google works best for me overall - very few issues on the BlackBerry and no seperate application to run on the laptop. If more people used it as a standard then it would be my hands down choice. I have used Trillion in the past with varying degrees of success. OK on the home machine with a direct internet connection, but has some issues when using a proxy through a firewall.

iChat keeps me attatched to my work . . . yuck. We're all on Mac's so it's an easy interface (has to be for me to be able to operate it).
I haven't used it socially much, but maybe now that I've stepped onto this site I'll explore that possibility also.

Trillian here. I didn't pay for the premium as I don't have a webcam. I enjoy being able to have all my accounts connected (AIM, 2 MSN, Yahoo), and being able to selectively ignore an account at will.

All of a sudden, you can't access it anymore. You loose your whole account, IM, Mail and My Yahoo.... Yes, it is horrible. I learned and now save all my friends in a text file on my hard drive, makes it easier to rebuild my list.... *sigh*

I have used several ims including yahoo i have used trillian because you can use multiple ids but if its cam use you want then it has to be msn its more stable than yahoo and you can do more with msn.Another one i used to use was paltalk you could chat and use cams there too but to see streaming video you had to choose the full pay option.

I still use msn now and if anyone cares to chat or add me then drop me a line.

Haven't tried yahoo for ages. Been using MSN and found it to be problem-free. That said, don't use a web cam.

I have yahoo and MSN.... if I want to turn my cam on I prefer MSN or even better... I also have skype.. but I haven't used that for a long time... only 2 friends on that... one who has found someone else to talk to and the other doesn't use it at all... I also have pidgin which can use both messengers but well..... I really don't use any of them much anymore.... a chat here and there....

I had both... but then I guess I just added people that I really did not know.. nor wanna talk to every 10 seconds.... so now its just MSN and I am EXTREMELY selective with whom is put on there.
