We all do things that might be considered out of character for us when we fall head over heels for someone. What's the craziest thing you have ever done "in the name of love"?

There was a time, not too long ago, when I allowed the "real me" to be subverted - to be molded into what she wanted, rather than who I really was.

I forgot the cardinal rule --- to thine own self, be true.

When I was 18, after high school and before the military, I was working at a lumber mill 40 miles from where I lived. Because I was new, I worked on the midnight shift. I used to pick up my girl about 8:30, and we would go parking every night. I would drop her off at 11:30, and report in to work before 12. I drove a two lane country road at speeds well in excess of 100 mph, night after night. I found out that, while deer won't move because of flashing lights, they will move at the sound of rubber squealing on the pavement. So, if a deer got on the road, I would stomp on the brakes hard enough to screech tires, and pray like hell the deer would get out of the way. Never hit one.

Then, to further complicate it, in the morning, I would repeat the process, driving like hell to get to her house so i could pick her up, and drive her to school. If I drove hard enough, we would have about 15 minutes together before she had to go in the school.

Wow Spare... that reminds me... when I was in high school my boyfriend worked 2nd shift (2-10) at a gas station. Mom was always sound asleep by then so he would come by after work and I would sneek out my bedroom window, then at about 4am he'd help me climb back in... worked out great till one night she locked the damn window on me!
