I live in the suburbs,about 2 miles from the beautiful Colorado mountains. Down the street from me is a creek and it brings all the wildlife down from the hills.
I've seen deer, coyotes, raccoons (as a matter of fact I've had the raccoons in my back yard...close call with the dogs,a mama coon and her kits. Not good!) and we've actually had bears and mountain lions come down!

There is a place about 1/4 of a mile from me that has a sanctuary/protected space for the coyotes...when they howl it gets real noisy. I love to hear them!

We did have an incident with a lady walking her dogs about a month ago. she let little Fi Fi get ahead of her where she couldn't see him and the coyotes took Fi Fi for breakfast...the woman actually ran the coyotes down and got her dog back. She got bit on the face but she saved little Fi Fi!

Anyway it's nice to see and hear the wildlife!:D

I do shiftwork too... last night I got home at 2 am, then got up at 5 with the wife, 7 with our youngest son and 11 when I gave up trying to sleep... Sometimes I get up at 4:30 AM for day shift , then when on midnights I get up around 4PM when the kids get home from school....

Then Fridays so 5pm-5pm saturday after school I pull a 24 hour shift for EMS so no sleep then, then I do a 8 hour shift on Sunday 12:00-8:30pm and be in bed around 11 so I can wake up at 3:30
