I'm probably too new to be suggesting something like this, but I think it would generate some interest if there was a forum here dedicated to music and/or cultural discussions here -- especially since that is one of the main points of interest that seem to bring people together....

Yeah, kinda scary. I live in a major city in the US and all of my educated middle class liberal friends think that the world thinks like them. What they don;t realize is that our city is only a tiny corner of our state and the rest of the state is red as bloody hell....

If you live in the states, and I am grateful Cotties doesn't :whee:, try pandora radio. Pandora lets you design the station yourself. You add the artists or song titles and it matches certain atributes to help you discover new music. It also lets you save MANY different stations, so if you have different music moods (like I do) you can adapt stations to meet those moods. And then log in from anywhere to listen.

It is currently only available to holders of US postal codes .... (no matter where you are, as long as you register WITH one...:sc loophole thinks I)

What kind of music do you like to hear?

I listen to BFM (Business Radio), Radio Nostalgie, Cherie FM... France Info.

There is so much talk on French Radio.

For New Age, Classical music, Country, Rap, Oldies and mo', I listen to sky fm, di.fm or luckyradioseven.com. No adds or very few...piped onto the net from what appears to be New York City.

So you hang around liberals do you? What do you mean by "the rest of the state is "RED"?

Hehehe... I not only hang around with them, but my heart is permanent bleeding ulcer. I do like to think that I am not an extremist (honestly, left extreme = right extreme... they all wear hoods of some sort), but someone who can be open minded and accepting of everyone's opinions and concerns - including our good "red" state Republican friends.

Appreciate you starting this music thread TALL. Music is 25% of my life...so :55

Very welcome. It seems that a forum dedicated to music would probably not happen anytime soon, so which forum would be the appropriate one to start threads about music related threads?

And BTW, Welcome to the Site as well.

Thank you, thank you... Pleased to be here.

At the office during the week, I listen to Classic FM UK or Classic FM Netherlands ( on the Net)....then when I get into gear in the afternoon European time, I switch to more vivacious music and in the evenings it will usually be Sky FM with World or New Age Music... :)
