Well, looks like the Rockies are finally finished--- still got an oustide chance, but I think the odds are better that Vesuvius will blow again (for those of you who don't know Vesuvius, she's this little Italian girl, lives on Chicago's north side, and is a popular tourist stop for truck drivers carrying beer out of Milwaukee) ..... they gave it a hell of a run -- should hold them in good stead for next year (damn, I sound like a Cubs fan!)

Hey spare, do you think we can find the girl from Chicago and celebrate with her when the Rockies win the World Series? Only because Chicago wont be needing her....

September 28th you wrote this...... Remeber next time, Colorado is heavens country!!!!

As a fan of the Rockies since the beginning, I am excited, and delighted by what they have done.

BUT ------ I don't care if they win the World Series or not.

Heresy? Nahh -- I've seen everything I want to see.

I've seen Todd Helton, speechless, with tears in his eyes. I've seen Matt Holliday, excited, bashful. I've seen Troy Tulowitzki, happy, but not surprised because he willed this to happen. I've seen Clint Hurdle watching his team, with a look of pure pleasure that can only be described as a father reveling in the accomplishment of his kids. I've seen Yorvit Torrealba, unabashedly jumping around like a little kid, the glee written all over him.

Do you honestly think a World Series victory would make any difference? Nope. I've seen everything I ever wanted to see. I don't care if they win, or not.

Sniff sniff...... Okay, I can more or less name every player on the rockies roster, but spelling the names...... Tell me you did a little research on that one.....

You make good points Spare. the rockies have an amazing story. One that you cant explode or make up..... I made a post a while back in the "I wanna thank" about the rockies, I made it before they made it to the preseason about their will, and accomplishments and confidence.. Little did I know they would be in the world series 2 weeks later.

I do admire what they have done and what it means to colorado dispite the "luck" we have had. But you can't honestly tell me that you could care less if we won the World Series. Sure you could be content with what we have accomplished but the revinue alone coming to Denver makes it wishful thinking! I don't know if you have been in downtown Denver lately but..... Lets just say the most exciting thing thats happend in the last few years, was "Real World Denver"!!! Lets just say I wasn't sitting at the edge of my seat for that one.

How ‘bout those BoSox!!!

Is anyone else enjoying Joe Buck calling of the games? In the ALCS he made a cowbell reference with the Sox bullpen and then in game one of the series he had that Richard Dreyfuss in his back yard reference when talking about the blimp. I grew up with Ernie Harwell, Vince Scully, Joe Garagiola, Keith Jackson, Al Michaels, and other greats but I think Joe Buck does a great job bringing relevant, humorous, pop culture references in to the game… he cracks me up!

How many home runs did you guys hit in the last two games????

The number of home runs is hardly an incisive measure of baseball talent. A team designed to hit home runs in a phone booth is significantly different than a team built to play on a real diamond.

Guess we have to wait and see what happens when an outfielder has to actually run, and then throw more than 50 feet to second base.

(Trying to figure out some weak ass excuse for getting out-pitched in the second game --- let me get back to you on that one!!) :lmao

BOSTON—Although Colorado players, managers, and coaches said they would not issue a formal complaint about the playing conditions in Boston, the Rockies have gone on record as saying the "thick, soupy sea-level air" in the city made it unusually difficult for them to play baseball. "Seriously, I can barely push my bat through this stuff," said Rockies slugger Matt Holliday, who collapsed and had to be administered less oxygen after Wednesday's practice. "I was hitting them as hard as I could out there and the ball was still returning to the earth. We might as well be playing in quicksand." Other Rockies players were equally vocal in their criticism of the hostile atmosphere in Boston, with Kaz Matsui claiming he found it hard to slide through the viscous air and Willie Taveras aggravating a recent thigh injury while attempting to stand up quickly.
