What are they and how are they earned? :sc
They technically are given when you like someones posts...but they also serve as a way for some people to just say hi to someone or to offer support....they arent a prize to be earned...they are freely given to whomever you want for whatever reason ya want...but ya have to spread them around and you can only do so many in a 24 hour period...( well, I found that out)...lol
they are a way of showing whether someone likes what u posted or not..when someone give u rep points they can add a comment and u can see them in your user cp panel..

under their name...right at the bottom u see the green light that shows they are online.. next to that is scales.... click on that ... :55
oh and they dont have to be online at the time for you to give points...

If you like someones post, you can click on the little icon to the right of the blue or green button at the lower left of the page for a person. By leaving them a message, you increase their reputation points. You can't keep doing it to the same people though, you have to spread it around.

But since you are posting as a couple, you'll need to figure out who's getting the rep points. Maybe you should consider creating individual user names...

This is true, the only problem is that we are on at the same time alot. We only have on PC, maybe we should invest in another:sc . For now maybe we will start signing, Mr. or Mrs. and see how that works.

My husband I only use one pc also, but when he wants to sign on, I log off and he signs on as Andrew. He's not on often, but sometimes it's fun to post back and forth to each other. I think Hoss and Momma do the same thing. There are quite a few couples here that do that.

Great questions! Let me see if I can pretend that I know what I am talking about.
1) How to follow chat -- On the menu, you will notice an item called "User CP". When you click on it, you get a list of threads that you have subscribed to that have had a post to it since you last visited it. To subscribe to a thread, simply click on "Thread Tools on the "secondary" menu (a little below the main menu area, and right above the start of the thread page), select "Subscribe to this thread" and you will be signed up. Easy, huh?
As an alternative, you can, in the User Profile, designate that you wish to receive email notifications on any thread to which you are subscribed.
2) Rep Power -- Sometimes, we want to laud a member for an exceptional post, and sometimes, we want to chastise a member for one with which we greatly disagree. Rep power gives each of us the ability to do that -- simply click on the Scales (I know, I know-- it looks like a tree!) below the person's profile, make your selection, and add a comment, if you wish. If it is a positive comment, the person's rep power will go up, and if it's a negative comment, the person's rep power will go down. (It should be noted, however, that you automatically get rep power points for just posting - by some convoluted formula that I don't have a freakin' clue how it works!) The comments for rep power ALSO show up on the User CP page.

As a further note, there is a red triangle at the bottom of each person's profile. If they post a particularly offensive post, usually with racist or sexist comments, spam or exceedingly rude comments, that you believe needs immediate attention by one of the mods, simply click on that triangle, and the mods will be notified by email to investigate.

Once you post on a thread, you automatically subscribe to that thread.
As far as the rep points freezing up, we've been looking into this and haven't recieved an answer yet. Most of the older members will notice their rep points have frozen at 8,580,000 or so, but not to worry. If you make a comment about a member's post, they'll still recieve that comment, so don't stop giving feedback!

it says the people with the figure of around 2,147,483,647 points total..... you have reputation beyond repute..no more is needed

Does giving other people reputation points effect our reputation points? Does it count towards the 500 post to be gold member? I didn't know that you could take points away from being short and to the point. I will try to write more and post more threads. I just really would love to post a nice picture of me. Sorry, don't like any of the one avaiable. I feel that it effects my repatation power. But patience. Pink will still be pink-4-you when the time comes. Got me wondering just how rated are the pics? I have a few, just shots that I think a very tasteful. Can I e-mail them to someone and see if I can use them as my pic. You have some great ones out there. I'm just a image person. i like to put a face or pic to someone that I talk to. And with me and no pic, I feel like the kid left behind. :cry:
Giving people rep points doesn't affect your rep points or your membership status, Pink. Yes, posts are deleted if they appear to be attempts to just boost your post count. We've had to do this in order to discourage members who have posted nonsensical, one word posts just so they can get to 500 and see all the photos. Not to worry, you'll be there before you know it.
As Lena mentioned on another thread, you can always contact her at marriedandflirtingchat@yahoo.com. Send her your photos and they will be reviewed and approved if they're PG13.

People give rep points when you post something they enjoy, agree with, find outstanding etc.... Posting pictures doesn't have anything to do with your rep points.

People give rep points when you post something they enjoy, agree with, find outstanding etc.... Posting pictures doesn't have anything to do with your rep points.

Well maybe not. But I would give you some points with that pic cause It looks nice and it would of matter what you said. Eye candy is that eye candy. Great pic by far.... I think

Click on the user CP at the top and see who gave you rep points....someone liked something you said.....:wa:
Hi there. now does the amount of rep points I have effect the amount of rep points I give when I like something some said. Example, you have a lot rep points. If you liked what I said.... would that throw me way up over someone that had like 7 rep points. Thanks. if we have suggestions for the site... should we e-mail them to Penny? I can't find link where to upload a pic to be put on avatar. I have pic just can't find how to get it there.

No hun...everyone has individual rep power based on their own...like I have a lot of rep points...so if I give a good rep or a bad one...it reflects a lot more than lets say a newbie would giving the same rep....
