I lost 90% of my possesions in a fire two years ago. I don't miss them at all. My two oldest daughters were at school. I had stepped out for a haircut - I was working nights. My wife got my youngest out and came back for the dog. I wouldn't say my wife and kids are possesions, but without them, all the other stuff would be meaningless. Ya can't take it with you. I was most concerned with the things my kids lost.

My most treasured living and breathing things would be my son and my daughter. My most treasured material things are my Dad's pictures, medals, and ribbons from when he served in World War II. They are proudly displayed on our living room wall. He's been gone now for 7 years, but he received all the honor and glory he deserved. If you're talking about actual possessions, I'd have to say every card, picture, and craft my son has made for me. I keep all of them.
I also have just one remaining war medal of my dad's from when he served in WWII. The others were stolen when we were robbed last year.
If you're talking about intangible things, it's definitely my son. He's the light of my life. My husband and my family and friends are a very close second (yes, that includes my friends here) and all the memories I have of my dad.
