I lost 90% of my possesions in a fire two years ago. I don't miss them at all. My two oldest daughters were at school. I had stepped out for a haircut - I was working nights. My wife got my youngest out and came back for the dog. I wouldn't say my wife and kids are possesions, but without them, all the other stuff would be meaningless. Ya can't take it with you. I was most concerned with the things my kids lost.

My mom died 3 years ago, a few years before she died she started me a charm bracelet. Each charm is significant, and she picked each one as it related to my life. I cherish this bracelet and wear daily.

My most treasured living and breathing things would be my son and my daughter. My most treasured material things are my Dad's pictures, medals, and ribbons from when he served in World War II. They are proudly displayed on our living room wall. He's been gone now for 7 years, but he received all the honor and glory he deserved. All the honor from a military funeral and all the glory from his God on high.

The obvious treasures are my husband and children, but i don't consider them possessions, so then, as others have said, photos, as well as home movies. But beyond those obvious ones, I would choose my grand piano. I would go insane without being able to play it every day. It has long been my therapy, and it is also a big part of my livelihood. Creating music means sooooo much to me---it is one of the most beautiful experiences in all of life.

My learning desire
If you're talking about actual possessions, I'd have to say every card, picture, and craft my son has made for me. I keep all of them.
I also have just one remaining war medal of my dad's from when he served in WWII. The others were stolen when we were robbed last year.
If you're talking about intangible things, it's definitely my son. He's the light of my life. My husband and my family and friends are a very close second (yes, that includes my friends here) and all the memories I have of my dad.

I have a great pair of moc-style shoes; they weren't expensive, but have had them forever; leather, slip on style, fit like butter; can thow them on in a second, bare foot, socks, and be out the door.
The soles are getting thin; it will be a sad day when these two soles do part. I might cry. Once I am sure I am alone. :(

If my home or car were destroyed somehow...I would be very hurt, inconvenienced, etc...but I don't treasure them. They are something I need, period.
I guess the possession(s) I treasure the most would be family photos and my grandmother's family Bible.
Not mentioning my child, as I don't possess him....though he is one of the most treasured parts of my life.

Well .... I do not consider my family a "possession" ... I think they would go without saying ... I think of all the things I "own" the one I currently covet most is the 72" ... thanks Sony.

a hand tinted photograph of my grandmother at 21.
I don't "possess" my kids, but I do treasure them above all else, as they grow, learn, interact with me and the rest of the world and search out their destinies.
In regards to possessions, I would have to say my memories are what I treasure above all else. The good times, the hard times, the intense emotions tied to many of them. The ones that make me smile, the ones that make me laugh, some still make my heart break while others melt it.

my daughter, more than my life, although she is only borrowed.
my house is full of antiquities, antiquities that actually have a meaning to me, from my grand parents or my husband's. I would be very very sad to lose those and the thousands of pictures i have.

I treasure the unconditional love from my kids....it's the only constant in my life and for that I am grateful....I treasure my faith because it keeps me going......Acutal possessions? I treasure little things that my kids made me when they were little....even little handwritten notes.

First I would say my daughter. She is my life and heart.
Possession wise, a strand of pearls from my grandmother. She died when I was 5. I vaguely remember her but I remember her giving me these pearls on her death bed and knowing I would always cherish them and what memories we had.

Although people are not posessions, I have to say my kids are my most important "posession"... as far as materialistic things go, I can't think of a thing.
