...at men who wear glasses.
The advancing years, long hours of staring at computer screens, dodgy genetics, and general decrepitude, and apparently everything else except frequent masturbation have conspired against my eyesight, which, until recently, used to be better than 20/20.
So, I steeled my reserve, and my raging libido, and made a call to the eye doctor. Sure enough, my close-up vision needed correction. After years of making a spectacle of myself, I now needed spectacles for myself...
No big deal, I'll just get some light designer frames. Doubt people will even notice. Completely wrong - I can bearly hold womens' interest while wearing them, or so it seems. It could be a lack of confidence comes across, but I've never pulled with them on. I don't think they dramatically change my appearance, but maybe my image? Are glasses a turn off to most, or just the average boozed-up reveller? Is this the general experience for the discerning spectacle wearer?
Glasses don't turn me off...in fact I love it when my husband is wearing his little reading glasses....you know those half glasses ya wear halfway down your nose.

I don't usually think age is a distinguishing factor about much, but a few older women I know think many younger women have issues with glasses, as they supposedly 'age' the wearer, and they prefer men to wear contact lenses. It sounds a bit unlikely to me, but what do I know? Since the glasses have been consigned to the computer desk it seems to be business as normal.

The younger women prefer men to wear contacts? That just shows what young women know....glasses to me show experience...knowledge and confidence...
the desire to able to read is a good thing.:55

Listening to you here about gals picking you up without your glasses and how they seem to have slowed down for the most part with your glasses...and your posted pics and other posts from time to time...you have a lot of cockiness and confidence about yourself and that's great...I remember those days well...but perhaps the cockiness and confidence comes across weird with your specs on? I was just thinking that many men seem to get off sexually on a gal that wears glasses as specs seems to look better on them for some reason. Also you seem to be looking for the younger gals as you blew off the suggestion of older women finding glasses cool...so I think it's mainly a younger gal thingy with you. Get those contacts quick dude...get yourself some great color and you are good to go, as the saying goes...:D blame it on the computer or whatever but you and your ego are too young for specs :sc
Those are my thoughts.

Whether or not one wears glasses says nothing more about a person than the quality of their vision. Only vanity would make more of it. Those who judge a person based upon whether or not they wear glasses are making a shallow assessment. I think glasses can be sexy. I like the mysteriousness of glasses, the way they put up a transparent barrier between the subject and his or her world and I like the drama that is made possible when one takes them off a certain way, or makes gestures with them in hand. I wear a pair of metallic pink ones for computer work, a recent thing, I just love them and have in fact worn them out!

Could very well be your observations are correct, mate. Seems to back up my own thoughts and those of most people I know. Would totally appreciate a woman of any age who was attracted to me in my glasses, though. Perhaps I need to broaden my horizons to find one. I'm sorting out contact lenses at the moment so my eyesight doesn't deteriorate further - will work on the cocky attitude...

I've always worn glasses so I really couldn't tell if they are a turn-on for women or not. I hate them though and wish I could wear contacts but my eyes are really sensitive and unfortunately contacts aren't for me.
I'm really blind without them and sometimes wish I wasn't especially during some hot love-making. I like to see what's going on :whee: and probably miss some of the good stuff unless I get real close or leave them on .

I get the general vibe is to wear the glasses and try to work on the confidence?
When it comes to people judging me, my friends and long-term lovers don't give a damn about the glasses, as you'd expect. If they did have an issue, then sure, they wouldn't be worth the time...The superficiality comes from the clubbers, but I don't expect anything less as I'm superficial myself under those circumstances.

Hey, I *gotta* wear glasses. For reading and computer work. And just plain old walking around and avoiding things like buildings and traffic. Whether you ladies find it sexy is beyond my control. Glasses are the basic round-lens "Lennon" type, brown-shaded bifocals. However...behind these glasses...is a good-looking, friendly hunk of man with a killer grin and an urge to romance you...and like everything else, they are removable...

Glasses do not make the man just as jewelry does not make the woman. Anyone that cannot see past the props are superficial in their own right. We all have things that we do not like about ourselves, things that affect our self confidence. You do not need to waste the time on someone who is going to reinforce those beliefs, as miguided as they can sometimes be.

Mile high, there you go get that attatude that your cool and the ones that dont see you as who you are can kiss your @ss biuld that selfsteam up and chicks will be kicking down the doors. trust me
I never needed glasses until I was about 25, and when I told my mom that I needed them, she chanted that ridiculous rhyme to me about boys not making passes at girls who wear glasses (she always was bang on with those pearls of wisdom...)
After the initial self-consciousness about my glasses, I actually started enjoying wearing them. I wear contacts when I'm cycling and at work, but otherwise I'm usually in my glasses.
I say wear your glasses proudly, Mile. I bet you look very dashing in them. I bet you'd look good in anything.

I agree. I have worn glasses since I was about 7 and couldn't wear contacts until I was in my 20's because of my astigmatism. I must say that once I started to wear contacts, women started to pay more attention to me. Why, I don't know. It is what it is, I guess. I just prefer the freedom of being able to see without the aid of glasses and wear sunglasses.

especially large, black almost buddy holly type frames. A man in a simple polo shirt, comfy jeans, trainers and some sweet frames makes my heart skip a beat.
