A record number of couples will wed today because of the date's alleged power.

Lots of people do, for one simple reason. Saturday will be July 7, 2007, or 7-7-07. In numerological terms, that's about as big as it gets for the superstitious.

People are booking gambling junkets, casinos are offering "7"-themed promotions, and about three times the normal number of couples plan to get married that day, including Eva Longoria and basketball player boyfriend Tony Parker.

Nearly 100 couples will tie the knot atop roller coasters or inside revolving teacups at amusement parks at 7 that morning, a California yogi plans to achieve massive harmony through gong meditation at 7 that night, and Christians will gather in a Tennessee football stadium to pray on a day that has good Biblical implications for many.

I guess then it is good luck that I drank 7 drinks last night, made with 7 up and this morning woke up at 7 o'clock. Hell, I'm off to a good start! Yeehah!

Give them 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 months or even 7 years....I wonder how many will get divorced with a 7.....maybe they should do a study on that...would be interesting to find out.....?

I'm actually going to a wedding this evening, and the couple has been engaged for two years just waiting to get married on 7-7-07 because they think it's a lucky date. I think it's ridiculous that some people actually think getting married on this day will make the marriage be a good one.

While out buying groceries today,noticed there was more wedding then usual happening. Counted five. Love the different types of vehicles that are used for a wedding here. One couple had a pink Cadillac(American car). The bride and groom were dressed in pink. Maybe the wives are thinking that 7-7-7 is a easy anniversary date to be remembered by their new husbands!! :D

Getting married is a serious commitment and picking a wedding date based on a lucky number is in my opinion ludicrise - but to each their own.

It's already not been a lucky day for many people... But I won't go into that.
I think all the hullabaloo over a date is ridiculous. It's a day, just like any other.
