Friends -

M&FC has always been a little different than most chat sites. It was originally designed to be a place where adults could come, could express their opinions without fear of ridicule, could fool around, sometimes act a little silly.

But, what we aren’t is almost as important as what we are. We don’t want M&FC to be a meat market, a place where women are afraid of being accosted by rude perverts, where people are put on display, where the only purpose is to get laid (an admirable cause, though, I must admit). We truly want M&FC to be a home away from home – the place, if you will, where your friends hang out, where you can come, sit a while, be accepted for who you are, tell a lie or two, and go on your way content with knowing that there are people out there who care about you. We don’t want M&FC to just be another cyber body shop - a pick up place, if you will. While we certainly don't discourage personal interactions between the members, we truly do not want that to be the main focus of the site. We want the site to be more than that - we want it to be a sanctuary, a home, a place where our members can come, feel free to express themselves, and know that they will not be subjected to attack or ridicule.

This goal of providing a home for our members has led us in many directions - discussions of love, of lust, of medicine, sports, politics, and even religion. We carefully monitor threads, not only for individual posts, but also for their contribution to the overall site. In the recent past, we have noted a trend away from shared conversation, open dialog, and free thinking, and a wandering toward the “meat market” mentality.

This unique approach is unusual for most new members – they tend to think we are just another one of the cyber body shops. Thus, the site tends to wander in that direction, and needs to be pulled back occasionally.

This is part of the normal cycle of the site – just as our “spring cleaning” to help guide the site back toward its original goals. Over the next few weeks, you will see some threads disappear from the site, as we try to realign our subject matter to refocus the site on its primary goals. The process for determining removal will be a consensus of opinion by the assigned moderators about the value of the contribution of that particular thread to the site goals. In addition, we will be combining threads of like subject matter. We will also be moving threads around – from forum to forum – in order to better align the subjects.

One of the things we will be trying to do is to provide better security for our site members. Accordingly, personal threads (those threads focusing on, or managed by, a single member) will all be moved behind the Gold Club door. This will ensure that guests (unregistered visitors) and newly registered members will not be privy to the more intimate information about our members.

We understand that some may be upset by the removal of their thread, or a thread that they enjoyed, but in order to revitalize the site, these actions are necessary. You may, of course, protest the removal of any thread. We will establish a single thread (“What the Hell Did You Do with My Thread?” – in the Gold Club forum) on which you may make your displeasure known, and the moderators will review that constantly. If your case is strong enough, the thread will be reactivated. HOWEVER - that is the only place that you may make your protest known publicly. Comments in other threads will be summarily deleted. If you wish to protest, but do not wish to make your concerns public, then, of course, you may send a PM directly to any moderator, who will raise your concerns to the moderator panel.

We realize this will cause a certain amount of upheaval, but we believe that these actions will make M&FC a better site for ALL its members.

Thank you.

I can think of nothing more important than the safety of our members. It's always been a pleasure to frequent this site. I also think those that moderate the site have always done a wonderful and thankless job.

I thank each and everyone of you for all your hard work.

Good idea, Spare, and think that should work well. After all, I have been one of the people who has had threads deleted in the past and was not happy about it, as you know.

I think another good idea to try that you guys (the moderators) should discuss is the use of the chat room. Too often, there are people that have not even made a post yet that are in there chatting (cyber sex) with some of the members. That, I believe, may be a HUGE contributing factor to women feeling that they are being accosted, harassed, etc. When the start to use the site, that is the first they they encounter, thus, they may get the feeling that this is some sort of porn site, which we know it isn't. I think it would be a good idea that a member is blocked from using he chat room until they reach Gold or at least Premium. That way, they get a good idea of what the site is about by being around a while and at that point, they can have interactions with the women here that are productive instead of destructive. Thanks for listening.

Even though I am new to this site, I appreciate the efforts that are made to keep everyone safe. I think that was a hesitation to even register was the saftey. Although I am not able to visit very often, I find it reassuring that the moedertors are and the members are watching out for one another.

I like that point of the chat room, too often I go there just to be PM by a newbie wanting all my info and wanting sex now....I have been rather pleasent expressing you must get 150posts to see pics and so forth, but curbing their entrance to the Lounge would be so much easier! Great point OIC!:55

It's a great idea .... if it can be done. The chat room is a different piece of software, and I'm not sure there is a way to restrict access. There, most certainly, is no way for the site software to control access. We will investigate, though.

Thanks for the input!

But how about another idea....actually I have a few ideas!

1. where the chat room is posted just add an arrow that reads for premium and up. Even if it's not true, it may stop some from trying to get there.
2. call it the PREMIUM + CHAT ROOM
3. oh I like this one. Don't give them access to the panel for the names. This way they can't PM anyone!
4. put a (n) before their names so we all know who the newbies are.

I'm sure I can think of more!!

What about different rooms for different levels? You already have different rooms in there anyway, is there a way to revise them to state Premium or Gold to protect the seasoned members? Or to protect the newbies from engaging in cyber with a seasoned chatter?:sc

Mighty's cam stalker must have caught a glimpe of her many revealing avators and gotten the wrong idea!:D

From a newbie standpoint, I totally understand the 150 posts minimum. I also understand Naneki's comments about the chat room. However, from my standpoint, that was the only way for me to meet and get to know some of you guys. I am slowly but surely getting comfortable with the threads and posts. But for a new person, it is really hard to understand what is going on. Lets put it this way, if I would have only had the threads to communicate with indivuduals on the site when I first became a member...I probably would have left because I was and still am looking for friends and like conversation.

On the flip side, I have been in the chatroom when those guys show up and are obviously on the prowl and are not interested in simple conversation and getting to know one another. Maybe two rooms would be the answer. One for newbies (like myself) and one for longer term members. However, that in itself may create a newbie chat that turns into a "meat market" more so than just a friendly room. Wish I had some more insight to share.

Just a few observations from a satisfied member.

If you're still upset about what appears to be a simple misunderstanding in communication, I'd bring it to the attention of the site administrators in private. I don't think lodging a complaint on a thread, that's not intended for the purpose, is a mature response that will get you very far.

Personally, I'm really impressed with the moderators on this site - they are fair people, care about the members and the site, and are nice to boot. I understand why 'spring cleaning' is necessary from time to time and welcome it. If the site is allowed to drift too far away from its roots, then claiming it back becomes a battle. Plus, new members are attracted to post under the wrong impression and circumstances. Before long, others become influenced and the forum's 'culture' changes. I have seen this happen on forums before and the managers have sat back and done very little. As far as I'm concerned, you can do what you like with anything I've posted...

Rules being made for privaccy of members and then moderators breaking them.

You have made your displeasure quite well known and it is NOT acceptable to continue complaining about in every other post. This nonsense needs to stop immediately.

If you have not visited the rules section, I suggest you (both) do so. If you have a problem with another member, moderator or not there are proper channels through which your complaint maybe heard. Placing accusations and name calling on the threads will not be tolerated.

12)Any member who has a specific and documented complaint about a Moderator should directly discuss the problem with the Moderator himself. If he/she is not satisfied with the outcome, the member can notify the site administrator (webmaster@marriedandflirtingchat.com), with his/her complaint, while concurrently notifying the particular Moderator.

I agree... And I like that the mods are also active members of the site who share and join in on the fun with everyone, imo that really adds to the fun family friendly feeling of the site.

Thank you.

Wonderful idea! Thanks to all the mods for their hardwork. You all are really appreciated even though it isn't always said!

I do have a suggestion...new threads can only be started once you've reached premium. It seems alot of threads get started by new members when they are just trying to say hi and introduce themselves.

...i think we should encourage all members to start a thread ,but before u do ,look to see where it should be and if there is a similar thread already started ...and threads should be for all members to activally enjoy ...personalized threads shouldnt be condsidered as it may make other members feel left out ...
i think most members get tired of nonsense threads that dont do anything to involve discussion between members ....

As long as newbies introduce themselves in the introduction thread there is really no harm being done ,and the mods will move the threads to the correct location if placed wrong ...

this site will only grow with the active participation of members ...always keeping in mind that this is a family ,a home ,a respute,a sanctuary ....its not a pick up joint or a dating service ....
