Well i'll be frank with you. Its not broken. The rep points were designed to pat someone on the back for a good post. We all started just handing them out as a way to talk to one another. If you go over your rep points now it will say you have rep beyond repute. ;) no thank u ...I dont want to dirty my rep box ...

Can someone explain to me what "rep power" is and what the numbers and green boxes mean?
Thanks...

Rep power is a response to you or a post you made...if you click on user cp you can see who has given them to u...
Green ones indicate a positive response or sometimes people use them as a way to say hi...a negative reaction results in a deduction of points and red markers if you have nothing to go against...the higher a persons rep points the higher the rep points they give
You cannot however flood someone with them...you have to spread them around before you can give them to the same person again...
The points also increase as your rep increases for your increased number of posts....also, they are deducted if you have had a post you made removed.........
I hope that helps...:wa:

Every day I wake up confused.
My goal is to become as unconfused as possible before the day ends.

That actually seems to be one of life's tasks: To become slightly less confused as we progress toward its conclusion.

Ah, but the longer we live, the more we realize we do not know. The more we realize how many things we will never understand. I think we simply learn to be comfortable with our confusion, and make the best we can of the knowledge and understanding that we do have.
That's part of my philosophy, anyway!

But it's the understanding that there are so many things we'll never understand that helps lift our confusion.
As children, society (consciously or unconsciously) leads us to believe that when we become adults, suddenly we will have all the answers and the world will make sense.
Then we become adults, and -- Hey! The world is no less confusing.
Let's say you see a mark on a wall. You're told that mark holds the key to understanding. You try and try, but you just can't crack the code to that key.
On the other hand, if someone tells you, "Oh, that's just some graffiti some kid put there," you stop trying to figure it out...and in the process you become less confused.

I think we're saying the same thing basically. I particularly agree with your quote that I snipped above. Took me quite a while to accept the fact that I would never have all the answers. And I think that accepting and realizing that, was my single greatest moment of enlightenment.

Excellent ....that's what separates individuals because we all have answers to most everything but some of these answers are not realistic to many except ourselves. Our mind is a beautiful mechanism that will go wherever we direct it and even rid us of physical pain at times, and once we understand it, we can mature beyond our years.

there are many reasons..complimenting a post, even down to saying hi..if you click above on User Cp you will see who has sent them to you..
But as you see Hoss has a lot of rep points...But not nessaserily does that mean he has a good rep
