I just had the sickest thought that my mother in law was on this site at the same time as me. Getting a little queesy thinking about it. Then the thought of a spouse being here and participating in the same thread as any one of us.

As we need to show our birth dates in our profiles, perhaps we should tell a fib and change the month without changing our age as the age is why we need to show our birthdates here.

Let's not go above and beyond the call of duty and volunteer info in the profile that is not necessary.

The pic file should be kept in a private folder if you are concerned about your spouse or someone else seeing them such as a relative, neighbor, co-worker, or acquaintance...you never know who else may be here. Just make certain they are private once you place them into a folder because I am unable to post my pics in a private file here because of a glitch somewhere so I have had all my pics removed...but many others have not had a problem doing so.

The thread "Something To Know Each Other Better By" is loaded with your signature that your spouse will pick up on immediately...especially those of us who tamper with the dark side from time to time and let it be known.

If you like to visit the chatrooms, remember that all non-members can be there and chat freely too.

Just a small post describing your spouses issues or a particular one at home you are not happy about...will be very meaningful for your spouse to read.

I'm not saying we should all become so private that our posts become generic responses...but I am just giving these observations to those who are very concerned. This is what I would be worried about if I thought my spouse was lurking.

I honestly don't think my wife knows anything about this site, nor would she ever join it if she stumbled onto it. I do wonder what she might consider cutting off if she knew I was posting on this site.

I tend to believe this also about mine, although I really do believe that people who do get married tend to have similar issues, so I wonder.

I often think that in relationships, often one partner expresses emotions, feelings and desires that both partners may have, but can't express for some reason.

For example, a woman may want to be sexual, but is uncomfortable with it because of her family background, or what she's been taught about sex. It often happens that she marries someone who is sexually expressive because she desires that, but in the relationship she can't reconcile the conflict she feels, so she shuts down sexually.

Meanwhile, her partner who has his own conflict about sex (wanting a asexual wife for his kids, and a whore in the bedroom), marries her because he's subconsciously attracted to a woman who he thinks will be a good wife and mother, and then holds all the sexual feelings for the couple.

I think this often happens in couples, where one partner becomes the "holder" of all the sexual desire and interest, while the other parnter becomes "withdrawn" from that part of themselves. It doesn't only happen with sex, but with anger, and other emotions also.
