Actually, he was Italian -- from the city of Genoa, I believe.

But is that because bilingualism is a government enforced requirement? I know that all federal government workers and military officers are required to be bilingual. I presume that Quebec demands that their employees be bilingual, as well.

Did you know...Bananas are the world's most popular fruit after tomatoes. In western countries, they could account for 3% of a grocer's total sales.
Did you know...Bananas consistently are the number one compliant of grocery shoppers. Most people complain when bananas are overripe or even freckled. The fact is that spotted bananas are sweeter, with a sugar content of more than 20%, compared with 3% in a green banana.
Did you know...approximately 44 million tons of bananas are produced annually, compared to more than 60 million tomatoes. Apples are the third most popular (36 million tons), then oranges (34 million tons) and watermelons (22 million tons).
Did you know...for me everything used to be all about the food :D

No that last statement is false. It you live in Quebec and your parents did not attend an english school in Quebec, the children must go to french school. The exeption is if you can afford sending your children to a private english school.
Though I believe that if you live in Quebec which is a distict french societe, one should know the french language.
I also believe that English and French should be taught thru out the country. Get everybody on the same page and learn both official Canadian languages. But who am I to say, I'm just a Quebecer!

I know the v is more aerodynamic, and that their eyes are on the side of their head, so the formation is good for easier flying and vision. Never heard about one side longer, I too am curious about that?

Ok I found some blurbs about the Myth Busters episode. The myth they 'partially debunked' was that a dry piece of paper couldn't be folded in perpendicular halves more than seven times, regardless of its size.
They couldn't fold a piece of letter sized copy paper perpendicularly more than 7 times without the paper breaking.
With the football field sized sheet of paper, they were able to fold it perpendiculary 11 times, with the help of a forklift and steam roller.

The truley scientific answer is: that one side is longer due to the fact there are more geese on that side.
