I think it's a good idea to have this thread too. There's some very intelligent people here, who can offer some great feedback on any issues I might be having, or just to talk about current events.

I'm not sure the saint read the topic on this thread, but oh well.
Hey, saint, you and I have the same problems at home. Talk to me. I can't give you any advice, but I have big shoulders to lean on.:kk

Saint you should try other things... my wife doesn't like anal (tried it once when real drunk), she says it "hurts". However, massage back there always gets a stir.

I am convinced that many people in the sex area are conservative to begin with. You want to know why?

The same reason that many people are conservative about life.

People are afraid of many things, and partuclarly of new things. Do you know what the percentage of people trying new products that find themselves on the market? 4%! You read FOUR PERCENT? Yes, correct.

So if your wife does not want to try new things, I understand that she is part of the 96%. Therefore what do you do?

Be patient and hold her hand in trust in confidence and tell her how much you love her and how you do not wish to hurt her. She is afraid, remember. Do remember that most of us are children emotionally...and cannot accept easily any change.

What seems evident is not your particular case

God knows how many people live with poor sexual satisfaction: you are obviously a man knowledgeable of love. She may not be. So you will teach her with kindness and love and caring for her.

What do you think of this proposal? It might work.

Good Luck.

Sounds encouraging, Saint. Good for you! Just remember, baby steps. I know from experience. I can be a tab...let's say, enthusiastic, and have heard, "What are you DOING?!" a few too many times for my self esteem. Take it slow. But at least she said yes to trying something new. Try with the lights off first. maybe that will help.
I was thinking about what you said, ffox, about people not willing to try new things. I guess I'm in the 4%. I love trying new products, new restaurants, new styles. Change is part of life. Too bad so many people are resistant to it.

Dear Jugs, dirtiness and sex... do not go together...sex is the cleanest act or behavior we have in this world..I don't like sex to be considered as a dirty thing...It is also considered as dirty thing in my culture...If there is no sex, we would not exist on this earth and talk about it.Please don't use sex and dirtiness together..:kk

Statically speaking we spend actually a small amount of time having sex, probably much to the chagrin of many of us, in actuality our thoughts and energy are consumed by what makes us what we are, husbands and wives, mother and fathers, sons and daughters, what keeps us going during the intervals of passages of dreams and desires.

Holidays? Are the holidays coming up? HELL NO! I'm not ready!

The Christmas rush is on....with all the different types of choclates, cookies, marmaledes, jams, special foods that arrive in the stores including cranberries from Massachusetts and Canada....

The idea of doing things for people sounds great. This year I will go out and help with the soup kitchens here in the City. What should one do with the real and the fake beggars?
Should one consider at Xmas time that everyone is a real "beggar"...and just give?

The idea of giving posh gifts now has no more meaning for me. I just want to give of myself. So ho-ho-ho...here comes F-Fox....

What are you Folks planning for the Xmas and New Year's?

And with that black ice is the worst. Here in Europe, because you do not see it, it kills.

Christmas starts for us having a drink in the "Well" with our friends, Wayne & Jen, possibly Garry & Gill, and a couple from another village if not snowed in,. Christmas day will be spent opening our prezzies, helping in the kitchen getting dinner ready. Watching the kids enjoy themselves from the comfort of our home. Going to the Shrine of our Lady in the afternoon and lighting a candle for safety in the world. Coming back having a shuteye, then the evening a lesuirey stroll round the village before coming back and having tea and watching the TV

England has a kind of harvest day in October, but no Thanksgiving. That holiday is strictly North American, and is a day to honour the feast that the pilgrims and Indians had as a sign of their new - and short-lived- peaceable living arrangements.

Canada celebrates Thanksgiving the second Monday in October. Traditionally it's a quiet holiday, with a big dinner with familyand that's about it. The Amercians celebrate it on the 24th of November, and traditionally it's a three ring circus, and also the official start of the Christmas holidays.

Hmmmm --- I don't think I would agree. I have a different view of it -- The advance in American global position isn't because of military might, or financial strength, or surplus of natural resources. Rather, it is because we have developed a national sense of purpose, of growth and exploration. When faced with a problem, we don't throw up our hands, and say "Woe is me!". Rather, we focus all our resources on resolving that problem. Whether it is the race to the moom, or Reagan's commitment to defeating the evil empire, once the die is cast, all hands heave to until the problem is solved. So, any problem we create now (dependence on oil, national debt, social security issues) can be fixed by a national commitment to solving it. We have always been able to, and i see no reason to be less than optimistic today.

The real problem we face now -- temporary, though it may be -- is that we have the leadership of one of our political parties who are more concerned about regaining power than in what is good for the nation. It is inconceivable that our congress should be arguing among themselves - jockeying for political position - when we have troops in the field. One half of the Congress is so intent on demonizing and diminishing the current administration, that they will step on the backs of the elderly and the military in order to get there. It is their myopic, self serving piffle that is the greatest threat to our country today.

Well ,the first part of my post was just a stupid joke to get your goat. And as for the second part, I wasn't referring to the states specifically, but to the general commercialism of Christmas everywhere. I'm not adverse to giving gifts, and I certainly plan on making every Christmas of my son's as memorable as possible, but the exploitation of every holiday out there wears me down. Even Hallowe'en is touted now as the perfect occasion to buy your spouse a new car!! We are a comsumer-focussed society, who buy, use, and dispose of materials so carelessly and without conscience. It gets me down.
Okay, you know how much I love my soapbox, so I'm going to stop there, and put the darn thing away.

I couldn't agree more about the commercialization of the holidays, though I did find it interesting that you admit, while you don't like it, you are still going to do it. It all seems to fall under that larger umbrella of disintegration of morals and family. Holidays were intended to celebrate something, whether it be religious or secular -- but we feel so guilty about working all the time, or ignoring our kids, that we use the holiday as an excuse to overindulge them.

As for being a consumer-focused society, as it has always been, so it shall always be. Our commercialism is no different than the commercialism of the Roman Empire, or the Anasazi indians, or the Incans. It isn't whether you change it or not -- it's how you react to it, how you manage it. We may be the first civilization to realize that it, in fact, does need to be managed.

Have faith -- and be of good cheer. There truly is hope on the horizon.

We Americans are the hedonistic’s of the free world and unfortunately one can not borrow against the future forever...someone has to pay…that is where I fear the sake of our children's future lies.

I think that we in America and other places have to stop looking at our navels and be so negative. True America is hedonistic, so is the UK ( sorry, David) and France and all the other developed countries. We are ALL borrowing against our children's future.

Some of the the WORLD problems are as follows: 1) we have difficulty consciously accepting that each country has to do something on a GLOBAL scale and join with others to solve those problems because we are still in a country-minded mode, (i.e., France for France, Italy for Italy, Japan for Japan, etc.), 2) we may recognize that we have certain problems in our societies but it is almost always the others who has to solve the problems first, 3) we mistrust more and more everything and everyone, 4) we live in a Global economy that has Global problems with leaders who are 19th century politicians with 19th century ways.

"I really do not know what I did to God for him to fulfill me of so many joys and so much music! ", wrote Offenbach.

Uncontested creator of the operetta, he was the inventor of the French cancan, and of the “Bouffes Parisiens ” (dinner and theater), exactly 150 years ago.

While watching French Cancan would you like a :drink: ?

Ah, but you assumed when I said I wanted to make Christmas memorable for my son that I was planning on inundating him with gifts, which I haven't ever done or plan to do.
Our Christmases are memorable because of the traditions we've established, such as watching the lighting of the lights in our park, baking, and decorating the house. We help out with community charities each year, and also have a special shopping day to buy for a needy family. We try to teach our son that Christmas is about giving, not about getting.
Of course he gets presents! What parent doesn't look forward to the face of their child as they open a much anticipated gift? But moderation is the key, and remembering the true meaning of Christmas, regardless of your religious beliefs.

Fortunately, I was playing with my goat - so, you didn't get it!!

Canada celebrates Thanksgiving the second Monday in October. Traditionally it's a quiet holiday, with a big dinner with familyand that's about it. The Amercians celebrate it on the 24th of November, and traditionally it's a three ring circus, and also the official start of the Christmas holidays.

Exactly what the Holiday Season is really about...I love making the food, seeing the snow and the lights better than anything else.

Hey jugs,

ask spare if he belives in santa and the great pumpkin? I think the way you and your hubby are raising up your son is they way I feel about Christmas. Yes my boys get presents at Christmas. But they also know the true meaning of Christmas is in giving. And it is not just at this wonderful time of year. They do community work throughout the year. Between the two older ones they help at the nursing home, help at the local baseball field with the teams coaching, altar boys at mass and reading during mass. The middle son plays piano at local community events and gives back to his grade school by helping the music teacher with the chorus. We as a family give generously to the food drives each year as well. So you go girl! :)

Actually my dear I went to church today, I answered it in another thread, but I,ll tell you. It was in a church in our market town of Fakenham here in Norfolk, this church had 180 different christmas trees adorned with lights and articles all designed by the local schools and all for good causes, I went in there with £25 and came out with nothing, so you see Jugs there is an old softee in mem part of me no one knows but do now. As I never had children doesnt mean I dont love them, I do, and at this time of the year what ever I have in my wallet I give to the needy, to the schools and to the local children, and I always go to midnight mass, and that means more to me than anyone will ever ever know.

Very good point Jugs.I didn't have alot growing up ,never knew if we were going to get to eat that day or not.My mom did her best with 5 kids ,being a single mom. But in turn throught the years I have over compensated with my children.Which I have learned is not a good thing to do !! I have a 5 year old and older kids ,but now I am watching want I spend and what I teach them about those who have nothing. And what little we do have we share.
There is one thing to know: Know matter how bad you have it,there is always someone worse off then you!!
Holiday's and especially Christmas ,is about Giving and Love. And I think some ppl forget that .And when I saying Giving ,not just talking money. I think giving your time and friendship is the best gift!!

And those that have it worse than you are not necessarily the ones that have less financially than you.

None of us are perfect, especially as parents. We all can look back and wonder what if I had done this instead. But we can not change that, we need to do the best we can and move on. The most important thing is to be there as much as we can.

The materialistic part of Christmas, it seems, is lessening somewhat all over the World as I watch both sides of the Atlantic. There are those parents, however, who still feel that by inundating their children with expensive and useless toys, they will make their siblings happy with those expensive gifts.

My kids who live away from me receive tons of gifts from the mother and my former parents in law because we are divorced. It is crazy as these kids already spoiled rotten have no idea what it is to help others during the night of Christmas and the holiday season. I have to admit that these children do not even care to help at soup kitchen or go and gather foodstuffs for adequate distribution on that great and loving Day.

I am ashamned to admit that. That is a truth hard to fathom especially these days with the many people going hungry worse off than we are.

Webster's Dictionary defines wench as a strumpet, which is defined as a harlot, which is defined as a prostitute. So I guess everyone has a different perspective.
Anyway, let's move on. Lot's more trouble to stir up around here!

Asparagus - Firm, long tender stalks to evoke erotic images in your mind.

Carrots - This root vegetable with its phallic shape is truly erotic.

Early Middle Eastern royalty regarded the carrot to be a significant aid in seduction and enjoyed it often. Grown deep in the earth this vegetable inspires his deepest, most private fantasies. Either raw or cooked, this vegetable can ignite his passion to incomparable excess!

Caviar – The egg shaped food has earned itself a reputation as a stimulate of sexual desire.

Oysters - This may be the best known of aphrodisiacs.

Some see a resemblance to a woman's most private parts and are drawn to savor the tasty creature. Others delight in the texture of the ever sexually changing mollusk, which has spent its life alternating between female and male.

Truffles -An air of mystery has always surrounded the truffle.
The fragrant muskiness of the truffle and its rarity keeps it on top of any list of aphrodisiacs.

Chocolate - Chocolate has long been purported to have such a intense ability to increase the sexual appetite.

Champagne - viewed as "the drink of love."
There is a saying that whiskey makes a girl stop arguing, beer soothes her, gin disarms her, rum cajoles her and champagne arouses her. :lf :)

In some cultures some men will take an assessment of their lives and will devoid themselves of all their worldly possessions and they embark on to the world with just the clothes on their back in search of meaning of life and enlightenment. In our culture we have a similar occurrences but it usually happens to men in their 40’s, and they to embark on to the world however, with a new sports car, a new wife, and usually his worldly possessions are taken away by a court order, we call it a midlife crisis. Well it’s time for me to depart, but not on a physical level, I’m not leaving my wife or kids, but more on a metaphysical level, although, I’m sure that my wife won’t mind a sporty model Xenote (perhaps Xelyte) it’s time that I get back on train of self-discovery, and focus on my writing.

The Internet has been a wondrous tool and as an extension of that, M&F has been a wonderful site, though still in it’s infancy, it has the potential for huge impact on redefining the roles as individuals in marriages and relationships, that we can be a couple with special bonds, yet retain our individuality and unique that drew our mates to us in the first place. It has been a rewarding experience to get to know many one, in some small way we have all become extended family members to one another, always concern how each of us are doing in our daily lives. I will miss all of you but carry you in my heart. The beauty of our animosity is our ability to open freely and allow ourselves the privilege of telling each other what is in our hearts, and our minds. Some of what we harbored from our own spouse. But because we are free to be open with one another, it’s impetrative that we maintain three essential qualities and traits, integrity, honesty and trust, and humbly I would suggest that integrity being the most important trait. Without that the other two are meaningless. Otherwise we are nothing more then charlatans of dialogue, dispensing meaningless words in the vacuum of space. Well, the conductor is calling my train, I hope that our journeys cross path again in some wait station in future, somewhere in time.

I wish you all joy and happiness, especially happiness. This is Xenote signing off.

Tell me it ain't so! I have enjoyed your discourses on humanity, and inhumanity, as well. I wish you best, my friend. I won't wish you happiness, because the value is in the journey, not in the destination. I only wish you godspeed, smooth roads, and an enjoyable companion for the trip.
