Not really a joke...but interesting.

Minnesota Public Radio's website had this interesting survey you can take to find out who you are more likely to support. Follow the link, take the survey and find out whose political viewpoint is more closely aligned with yours (I was surprised with my results!) It includes all presidential candidates.

Wow! Came up Duncan Hunter and Mitt Romney in a tie. Wouldn't have expected that.

No surprise -- Obama, Clinton, Dodd were the bottom three.

Needed to adjust a couple matches for more precise positions, then:

Richardson (don't support)
O'bama (yeah baby!; I'm straight ticket Chicago machine politics Irish voter)

Who the heck is Ron Paul? He was fairly high.

Believe it or not Dr. Paul is a Republican candidate that actually opposed the war in Iraq from the get go. With credentials like that he's got a snowballs chance in hell of getting the nomination.

Not my country anymore (I'm a Canadian citizen now), and we've got our own elections (at least in Ontario) to think about. But I'm keeping an eye on things down there, hoping for a good candidate to show her/himself.

Curious what the standards are to be accepted as a Canadian citizen?

It's interesting how many of us (myself included) were surprised by the results.

Since this survey was issue-based, it means that we were selecting candidates by personality, rather than by issues.

I'm going to have re-visit my options -- it would seem I haven't been giving some candidates a fair shake.

Spare, why am I not getting this line? If it was issue-based, wouldn't we be selecting by ISSUE, rather than how white their teeth are?

Maybe I'm just not caffeinated enough...?

Well, just applying blind, it takes some doing ... but I married a Canadian (not just to get in the country, of course), which makes things easier. Though it still took a year after the wedding before I was allowed to move up here.
