That it is a violation of the rules of Flag Etiquette to "Wear the Flag as an article of clothing or as an adornment" (jewelry, to include Tie and/or Lapel Pins)?

It is also a violation of Flag Etiquette to fly a flag that is torn and/or tattered. Which means for all you dedicated flag wavers out there who have a tattered flag flying from the antenna on your car (which more often as not, is NOT made in the U.S.) BURN IT!!

Did you also know that it is a violation of flag etiquette to fly a flag at night without a light?

Did you know that Section 8j of the Flag Code reads:

No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

To wear the U.S. Flag as an adornment is not allowed. Placing the Right Hand over your heart when the flag passes in proper. When wearing a hat, the person should remove said hat and place your RIGHT hand over YOUR heart.

Wearing a piece of metal, not manufactured in the United States in order to cut production costs, shaped like a U.S. Flag means nothing. I visited over One Hundred (100) distributors of the U.S. Flag in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area after September 11, 2001. NOT ONE (01) single flag sold in those those was manufactured in the U.S. Most were made in Communist China, as are the lapel pins that spare is so very fond of.

I also counted over Nine Hundred (900) foreign made (Japan and Germany head the list) of cars flying U.S flags after September 11, 2001. U.S. cars didn't fly the U.S. Flag, go figure.

A piece of tin, or a piece dyed cloth is NOT the way measure your patriotism. It more than likely makes you feel good, but such acts do not make you somehow a "Better American."

I know I love my country. I do not need a some cheap to make pin or cloth to demonstrate that.

I know that there are those who do. But next time you fly your flag, find out where it was made. A U.S. Flag, or U.S. Flag Lapel Pin, manufactured in Communist China was made with slave labor.

Democracy and Slave Labor do not mix well together.
