Well Dave I get the best of both worlds here. It's a very urban area in some regards. Everything is relatively close, however on the north side of our complex we have a farm and down the road a ways is another, but yet we have a Wal-Mart across the street. Just a mile or so north of here is wide open space and quite a few more farms. There is an amazing farm just a few miles away from here that people come from all over the US to visit. Here have a look. It's definatly one of my favorite places! (Have a look Wiggles... you might want to paint this!)

How beautiful thankyou, that picture of the horse with a sunset misty background is stunning, you are lucky, sadly the Uk is going downhill fast with the thugs and vandals and animal cruelty. We are lucky in Norfolk, but now you have shown me this I can envisage you and the area better when we post like this. Thankyou again

Up in the western part of NY.... near Buffalo. And no we dont always get as much snow as you see on the weather channel. That is south of the city down in ski country. Born and raised here. Not too bad a place to live if you can afford the taxes we pay to support NY CITY. Close to canadian border and toronto, canadian ballet(male and female strippers), pro football, pro baseball, AAA baseball, arts and culture abound. And even thought I hate the snow more and more..... IT MELTS!!!!! :D No hurricanes, no tornadoes, no earthquakes (well maybe once in a blue moon). We have a change of seasons... sometimes 4 other times it seems like just 2. But summers are very nice hear... We have two lakes Ontario and Erie. Some nice scenic areas to view, wine country and the falls are very pretty with the changing leaves.
There have I sold everyone on moving here? ;)
And ya know.... I am surprised that I have not seen more people on here from my area. Whats up with that? I can't be the only guy or gal who likes to flirt. :whee:

So is your boat ok? Are you still on the 9th floor or did you get the house? Sorry so many ?'s Message me the answers!
Hope all is well:kk
Well said, cuda. You could be describing my area except for the taxes. Toronto has exorbitant taxes, but they're reasonable here.
I'm not far from you; just on the other side of the lakes in London, Ontario. Lake Erie is about 30 mins. south of us. I haven't talked to any other Canadians here yet. So far, I think you and Annie are the closest to me.

We have lots of new people here, and I was wondering where everyone is, so I thought I'd start up this thread again. The original question was, "Everyday we say hello, but we don't know where you're from." What is the landscape like in your part of the world?
To start things, I'm in London, Ontario. We have hot summers, cold winters, and sometimes spring and fall too, though some years, there only seems to be 2 seasons!
And i am near London, in Surrey UK.
We have freezing cold winters, ok to hot summers, spring can be warm but it can still be cold too warming up later, and the same with fall, but the other way round warm getting cold later !!!

I live in a small town in Ga.And when I say small I mean I have to go 30 min. before you get to town. It's hot in summer, cold in winter. We have farms all around us,in fact behind my Daughters school is a milking farm!lol
But I have to say they are starting to build all around us I hate that ,but not much I can do!!
Hey, We got a Wal Mart coming up ,Which is a Biggy here.

Sounds very nice, like me in a way although I live in a village there is only one shop that sells groceries, the rest are associated to the church. I have to drive to Fakenham 8 miles 15 mins in the car to do big shops, there we have Morrisions supermarket. I live 4 miles by road from the sea side, and my home is right in the countryside with fields at the front, and at the back as well, the village remains unchanged since 18oo,s and the road where I live with the church at the top has altered since 1929, only the people getting older.

Im going to be rude here............" If you fart in the village they,ll know before you do"..................having said that I wouldnt change this village, so quiet and if I see 12 cars a week thats too many, this is an idylcc way of life. The only thing that changes is when I have sex the old lady next door will hear it, and at 85 she has good hearing!:lmao

we live in a small-but-growing town in nw utah. mountains on two sides, lake on one, and the salt lake desert going west. 100 miles from nevada, but on a clear day you can see forever on the salt flats. Oh, we do have a walmart, but not much else
Sounds like a very nice place!!!:)

I have many on line friends from Turkey. I love turkish people in general because they don't mix their religion with their politics and because generally they are good, honest clean thinking people. Your country actually has been blessed because of the Spanish Inquisition wherein many jews were expelled from Spain and most of them came to Turkey and that's when the prosperity of grand country started.

Well Dave Right now not far from Kira just outside Rochester, N.Y. we have a light coating of lake effect snow on the ground, it is actuall beautiful with all the Christmas light, as long as you don't stay out in it too long the temp is 15 deg F. Reall isn't bad no real wind so you can get out and do stuff. I gotta ask Kira where them female strippers are though.

What with snow?.............no thankyou, keep it, here it, when we get it it lingers and lingers, we have power cuts, and this village gets marooned. No heat as we are only oil fired central heating, we cannot burn logs or coal so as nice as snow is its a bane in norfolk.
