Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

Tell us all some of the things you are thankful for.
Please stay away from cliche's and worn out generalities.

I am thankful that my son calls me once a week now, and insists on taking me out to breakfast before we go to work. A year ago he thought I was the meanest man on earth for kicking him out in the street. He has kept a full-time moderately paying job for over 3 months now.

I am thankful that a year ago, I found this site and began to make some terrific friends. One in particular that has taken my heart in her hands, caressed it, held it close and captured it, with all her might. She truly is a godsend!

I am also thankful for the fantastic family I have. We support one another through thick and thin, love one another unconditionally and actually look forward to spending time together at the holidays, unlike the horror stories I hear about family and holidays in alot of places.

I have so much to be thankful for. And Thanksgiving makes me all mushy. Although I know I will forget a lot, these are some of the things I thought of today:
I'm thankful for

My family, my home, my (It's up for debate, I know!) sanity. I have a full fridge, a warm bed, a healthy body, a car, a computer, and internet connection, cable, and a coffee pot with a grinder, and a good Merlot.
I have had great experiences, and some tough ones, but I am even glad to have survived the tough ones since I wouldn't be who I am today without them.
I have access to top notch medical care and emergency services when needed.
I'm employed and have marketable job skills. I am able to make a small (OK, pretty darn small, but still) difference in the lives of others every day in my career.
I have friends that I have had for years and a lot of people that love me. I know what it means to love someone, and have invested and continue to invest in my relationships.

I am thankful for a lot of things today.......

1. I am thankful for my family. We may not talk often, but I know that they are there.

2. I am thankful for my beautiful son. He is the courage in my heart to create a better and more fullfilling life for the both of us. He is the reason I go on every day, even in those times when I feel like giving up.

3. I am thankful for my marriage....yes, you heard right. Being married has taught me some valuable lessons about love and heartache. My husband has helped me see that I am a strong and able woman when I need to be. He has taught me how to fight from within. He had also shown me much love at one time. I am thankful for the good years that we had together and the memories I will take with me when I go.

4. I am thankful for my life and all of the struggles that I have had to endure and conquer. With each episode of trauma also came a lesson. Lessons in strength and endurance and humanity. I am thankful to have been molded into the caring and empathetic person I am today.

5.I am thankful for this site and this "family" I have grown to know and love. Friendships are valuable things and good ones are hard to come by. I am thankful for all of the relationships that have developed here.

6. I am thankful for him. If not for his love and support I would be this sniffling, weak woman that would probably be in a corner right about now singing myself lullabys while I rock myself to sleep. I am thankful for the connection that we have found and the fact that we continue to prosper in spite of the distance between us. I am thankful for the ability to feel what he feels and for him to feel it in me. I am thankful for any time we share together and the fact that he wants to continue on this path that we have discovered. I am thankful for the fact that he brings out the best in me, has seen the worst, and is still here every day.

I'm thankful for the special friends I have found on this site. They have shown me that I am a strong person. And I can do anything I set my mind too! Took a lot of nerve telling my husband that it was over!

Our kids just left after dinner, they are all going shopping together tomorrow.
I am thankful they are healthy and happy. I am especially thankful for our 3 happy and healthy granddaughters. We are fortunate they have good parents taking care of them.
