The last day to register for the upcoming February 2008 Primary in California will be January 22, 2008.

If you are 18 years old or over and a Citizen of the United States, you can vote.

If you are a first time voter, please have Picture I.D. when you come to the polling station, you can asked to show it.

If you have changed your name or residence since the last election cycle (November 2007), you MUST re-register.

If you have changed political parties, YOU must re-register.

If you have registered as "Independent, Decline to State." You can vote in the Primary. On Election Day, when you come in to vote, there will be on the table where you sign in, a list of political parties you can select for ballot purposes.

1. American Independent Party.

2. Democratic Party.

3. Green Party.

4. Peace and Freedom Party.

5. Republican Party.

Tell the clerk which ballot you wish to vote and you will be given one.

If you mark your ballot incorrectly or wish to change your vote, return to table where you received your ballot. The clerk will write "Spoiled" on the ballot and give you another one. You will only three chances (03) to mark your ballot. If you mark your ballot incorrectly a third time, that is the ballot that will count.

If you voted absentee, but failed to mail it in to your County Registrar of Voters, you can simply take to a polling station near your home and hand to the clerk at the door, the absentee ballot will be placed in vote-a-matic machine in a side door and be returned at the end of the voting day. The absentee ballot can be turned over to any polling station in the State of California, and it will be mailed to your county.

If you voted absentee, but have decided that you wish to vote in person, go to your polling station and turn your absentee ballot over to the clerk. They will write "Surrender" on the ballot and issue you new ballot. You may then go to the voting booth and cast your vote.

If you have moved, and not re-registered for the primary, you can either call your County Registrar of Voter and they can tell where your polling station is, or you can go to the nearest polling station and the judge will use a county wide registary to find out where your polling station is.

If you receive a letter telling you that due to an "Un-Expected Increase In Voter Turn Out.", and you can vote on the Wednesday after Election Day, contact your County Registrar of Voters. This is illegal.

If you receive a phone call telling your polling station has been moved, and your new polling station is at another location other than stated on your sample ballot, Contact your County Registrar of Voters. This is illegal.

If you receive a letter telling you that you are not allowed to vote for any reason, and you know you are in fact a registered voter, Contact your County Registrar of Voters. This is illegal.

If your employer attempts to influence your vote, "If you vote for _____ (Fill in the bland) you will lose your job, etc." please contact not only your Registrar of Voters, but the Director of Human Resources and/or the County D.A. This is illegal.

If you are a former Prisoner of the California State Penal System, but have met all the conditions as set forth in the Sentencing Recomendation by the Judge at the date of your sentencing, you are allowed to vote. YOU must have completed any and all Parole and/or Probation conditions and have no outstand parole and/or probation in order to vote. Contact your Parole Officer regarding this matter.

No person of legal voting age, who is citizen and registered voter in California can be denied the right to vote. If you are denied this right, contact your County Registrar of Voters. This is illegal

Polls will open at 7:00 A.M. and Close at 8:00 P.M. Any person IN LINE at the time the polls close will be allowed to vote. If your running up to the door as it closes, and if the clerk is good guy, you can vote. If not your just S.O.L.
