Just today, I was assigned the task of erecting some new office furniture for a very senior member of staff.

Not noted for my joinery skills, one hour into the project, I concluded I had it upside own and back to front. Panic set in, but not before it was announced that an important meeting was about to take place and could I get a grip. One person, half an hour, the packaging had said.

Picture 10 bemused managers walking in one after the other, standing beside the twittering fool with the glued hands and the spare bolts, as nobody had a desk to sit around.
