View Full Version : How Well Do You Know Your States
This is fun..... The only thing is: if you don't drop it exactly in the spot it counts as wrong. I would put in the correct spot just a fraction off, but it was counted wrong.
This is neat. Try it. Map of the U.S.A.
This is fun. A state will appear above the country. Put the cursor on it and hold down the button and drag it into the location on the map where it belongs. And then another one will appear. It's interesting how many states we don't know where they are.

It helps when they give you states around the border first instead of giving you W. Virginia without a reference point. :)

Very good for a Canadian! Much better than most Americans. :D
There's some people who still think they need a passport to get into New Mexico. :lmao
Now that's funny! And a bit sad too!
I always loved geography; I think it's genetic or something. My Dad was a navigator with the air force in WWII and I inherited his passion for maps, astronomy and geography.

That's cool about liking geography. I've always enjoyed astronomy, geography, meteorology, and other nature sciences. I even did some surveying in the summers to pay for college (long time ago). I also came close to majoring in astronomy in college, but decided I needed to eat. :lmao

Good idea bun boy! There's not that many, but I bet they still won't get them! I'm working on finding an equivalent quiz about our provinces.

Yes, not sure how many jobs are out there for astromonists!
I find it fascinating that the only way pilots could navigate at night before modern instruments was by the stars. Can't even imagine, but Dad was apparently the best of them ,and ended up teaching navigation after being injured.
Meteorology is another interesting science. I always enjoyed studying that.
Funny, I never thought I'd be discussing it on this site though! I love this place!!

Wow! that is cool! My Dad was a fighter pilot during Korea. While astronomy wasn't really discussed much, VOR's, dead - reconing, IFR, VFR, and numerous other things were often discussed and taught. I'm sure Marycat, and hank can also relate!Yes, not sure how many jobs are out there for astromonists!

That's pretty cool Seeker. My Dad didn't talk about the action he saw. I think he saw too much to want to revisit it.
Was your Dad a pilot? If so, then he wouldn't be navigating that much. He'd be listening to my Dad for directions!
I ended up in air cadets for most of my teen years, as I was considering a career in the air force for a while. Then I realized I just wanted to fly a plane.

Well...I think I started off on the wrong foot....I didn't notice that they actually gave you the name of the state...I was sitting there trying to figure out the name of the state based on the shape...duh. Scored like a 70% cause it took me half the game to realize they told you the name of the friggin state.
