Ok, so I'm walking with my son around the carnival in town here for the local town festival the other night. We run into a guy who is working as a reserve police officer. As we talk to this guy we find out he is Jacob Hesters uncle. ( you know, the running back for LSU who went to San Diego). Well Jacob Hester is my sons football hero, so were telling this guy how much my son idolizes Hester, and he tells us to hold on a minute. He leaves and comes back and gives my son an autographed picture of Jacob diving across the line to win the Florida game. Needless to say, I don't think my sons feet touched the ground the rest of the night. Probably not interesting, but was really cool to see.

Hmmm...Hope you like your new coach!! Pellini took a lot of heat from the media for staying at LSU to coach the NC game after accepting the head coaching position at Nebraska, but he made them all look like the idiots they are. Maybe we'll see y'all in a bowl game soon...that would be sweet.

Sooners? I seem to remember something about them...2003 NC...

He'll not only run with a lot of heart, but he'll bust a lot of holes open for Tomlinson (hope I spelled that right). Yeah, hated to see Pellini leave but glad to see him get a head coaching job. Gonna be tough for LSU to repeat, especially with the quarterback situation, but will be rootin for them all the way.

Yeah not sure how they will use him.. gonna be fun to watch.. We should have hired Pelini when he was with us the first time... but I am really jacked up that he is gonna turn our D around... And Tebow will be the greatest of all of them. I have a feeling he will run less this year. They finally have a couple of good running backs next year. I think his passing game will improve and he will develop into a great NFL QB. But only time will tell.

Yeah, not quite as tough of a schedule as we'd like for sure...but we have a hard time getting BCS teams to play us during the regular season. :sg
Have no idea why...do you?;) We have to play Ole Piss, and Miss State because they are in our division. We also play Auburn, Florida, and Georgia on the road... We have scheduled a home and away with Washington State beginning in '09. USC refuses to schedule us.

I didn't realize that Penn State refered to their stadium as Death Valley.
I know we do, and Auburn does...and I think Clemson does too. Of course, everyone has a different opinion on who has the toughest home field advantage. I have tons of respect for OSU and Penn State...we have a lot of Buck Fans that still come to the LSU forums to discuss football--some very cool folks that had to listen to a lot of smack from all over the country after losing to Florida and LSU consecutively.
I'll withhold my opinion on USC for now, but I sincerely hope that OSU
beats the shit out of them.

i love watching my Terps play even though they are a second tier bowl team. it is nice to see them give other higher tier schools a run for their money. i am hoping this season their offense can play a bit better. they have a really good qb that played well after their starter went down against Rutgers and he brought them back and beat Rutgers. the problem with them last year is they lost so many O lineman. they were going 4 deep as their starters there. no one can win with injuries like that. O lineman are an unsung hero.

I hear you! We lost three starters in our Washington State game last year and had the other two injured in previous games to some degree. Our center played a lot of the season with a cast on his hand. We didn't get a great 'ranking' on our recruiting this year, but PC picked up some wicked talent for the line. If half that talent pans out McKnight, Green, and Tyler are going to get lots of great press, lol.

what a joke the BCS. i talked to a sports reporter and he told me as long as the networks put up the big money there won't be a title game or playoff.
i love the bowls and there is no reason why you still can't have the bowls as well as a playoff. so your team doesn't make the 8 team playoff, they probably will get a bowl invitation. nothing like watching a bowl game around the holidays. beer and chips and wings.
most ppl want a playoff, but the presidents of the big conferences don't want to share the revenue with the smaller conferences. that is the problem. but once a network says here is a billion dollars for a playoff. boom the presidents will have no choice. but until then we suffer with bullshit writers and computers and coaches picking the champion

Thump, we would gladly trade you Stanford for Kentucky, and Oregon for Ar-kansas. And we wouldn't mind playing Ohio State again if y'all will play Florida!!:D

I always pull for Bama in the Iron Bowl. I detest Auburn. I don't have an issue with Saban like a lot of LSU fans do. Hell, the guy took us to the BCS National Championship! USC better watch out though, Bama will be after Carroll next...uh...I mean again.;)

I still wish LSU could have played USC at the end of '03. That would have been a great game, regardless of the outcome. Big money for both programs too!! :55

Vandy would be a bowl team every year in the Pac-10...;)

Now that was just rude...:satan: Damn Volunteers!! Can't take 'em anywhere!!:D
;)

what a joke the BCS. i talked to a sports reporter and he told me as long as the networks put up the big money there won't be a title game or playoff.
i love the bowls and there is no reason why you still can't have the bowls as well as a playoff. so your team doesn't make the 8 team playoff, they probably will get a bowl invitation. nothing like watching a bowl game around the holidays. beer and chips and wings.
most ppl want a playoff, but the presidents of the big conferences don't want to share the revenue with the smaller conferences. that is the problem. but once a network says here is a billion dollars for a playoff. boom the presidents will have no choice. but until then we suffer with bullshit writers and computers and coaches picking the champion

The SEC president, Silve, proposed a 4 -game playoff and was shut down. The ACC was also on board, but they were the only two that even wanted to discuss it.

I'm all for it, but I realize that there will never be a "perfect" system that will make everyone happy. Someone who is "deserving" will always get left out in any system. JMHO.

A trade like that would definitely makes us the PAC-1.....lol. Now if you guys want fUcla and Cal....let's talk! :) I'm sure Bark would love to play them every year.

That was a shame about Dixon last year, that guy could change a game big time.

An 03 game would have been great, even in NOLA. But Saban really rubs me the wrong way.....he's almost a bad as stoops......either of them.

And PC isn't going anywhere, lol. He's the king of L.A. and we're gonna be in the hunt for at leat the next three years with recruiting he's got lined up.

fUCLA is no Cal. As much as I should root for the PAC (especially against the SEC:ok) I just can't do it here. Lord I rooted for the battery chuckers last year....made me want to take a shower.....ugh....

How is Georgia can be ranked #1 in the preseason pole, when there opening game and fall to #2? College football politics I guess and that is probably the reason there will never be a true national championship game...

I'm hoping someone finally notices that there is another football team in Ohio other than the team that plays out of Columbus from the big school with no academic standards ;) I'm gonna be singing "Cheer Cincinnati" and rooting on the Bearcats this weekend when they play some team named the Sooners from OK on Saturday.
