I like to buy old bangers - cheaply at auction - and get carried away throwing good money at them. Usually the relationship ends bitterly with me gluing the parts together because my tools can tell when amateurs are using them. I then sell the labour of love for scrap parts, just in time for the next auction (you figured I'm talking about cars here).

My latest fix-me-up is not going very well. I’ve just discovered the spare screws I found were absolutely vital for the balance of the rear suspension. Nevermind, the glove compartment never opened properly anyway.

Every good repair project requires the purchase of at least one, moderately expensive, specialised tool. Therefore, proudly displayed on my garage wall (to alert the entire neighbourhood to my behaviour) are various manifold alignment jigs and a full set of carburettor torque pawls. Just incase evidence of my guilt was needed.

I included my other guilty pleasure as a blatant attempt to score ‘awww’ points: I’m a devout feline lover; 2 kittens and 3 adult cats (one that wasn't spade in time)...I’m forever waging the war against cat smells and cat hairs, but forget that and focus on the cuteness...

I currently have one using my bladder as a launch pad and another attempting to save my eyesight by placing herself between me and the monitor at every given opportunity. Meow loudly enough and yes, the human tin operator will get up and feed you.
