Know of some really funny team mascot names?
Apologies to anyone affiliated with Butte County, ID's high school system, but I REALLY think the "Butte Pirates" is either a very progressive or a very funny name.
Of course, there's also the Rhode Island School Of Design Nads.
"Go Nads! Go Nads!" has to be their most popular cheer. It has to be!
OK not a school name but over here in England there is a village called Ugley pronounced Ugly.
In that village they have the Ugley Women's Institute.
I hasten to add that none of the delectable beauties that frequent this site would have a cat in hell's chance of becoming members.

I've always been amused by Morehead, KY. Their mascot is the eagle, but I think the swallows might be more appropriate.

The University of South Carolina Gamecocks. I've considered becoming a fan just so I could get their bumper sticker that says "GO COCKS!"
My alma mater was the Moorhead State Dragons, which makes sense: if you have a lot more head, it's bound to be draggin', right?
The local Moorhead, MN high school has tried, unsuccessfully, for decades to try to get the kids to stop chanting the following cheer at games:

I kinda LIKE the Banana Slugs...it's a very out-of-the-box school!!!
From east central Illinois, I offer up the Fisher Bunnies and the Tutopolis Wooden Shoes. And mind you, the Lady Shoes took state in basketball a number of times!

Well in high school there was no mascot...but lets be real....In Montreal we use to have a mascot for our baseball team. He was named Youpie!
Oh it gets worse...We lost our baseball team and now we have Youpie as a mascot for the hockey team, yep believe it or not a Youpie, its an orange fluffy creature with big eyes...
Did you know in Dallas, for their hockey team, they have cheerleaders...Us here in Montreal, we have a YOUPIE!!
It just seems so WRONG !!
