What for it to come out on DVD
3 hours is a long time to sit in a movie theater. The first hour was painfuly slow. The 2nd hour was good but then I just wanted out :(

My company actually owns a movie chain. Did you know that very little money is made on the actual ticket sales? That is reserved for the film distributers. The only way for a theatre to make money and cover costs is to charge outrageous amounts on food and drink.

I heard that. I heard they make less than a buck a ticket.

Was it really violent? A friend of ours saw it and he said to definately not take the kids to it.

We make on average 47 cents a ticket, depending on the film.

Then why not change it . Where the movies cost more and the snacks less. Wouldnt it create a better over turn in the end ?

Because they charge you a percentage, not a flat amount. They dictate how much you have to charge and take a percentage of what you do charge. About 5 years ago it was approximatel 70%, now it is more like 90% of all ticket sales.

The true american way. Tell them what they can charge or else. That goes on for alot of different companies. Parents own a small grocery store and the pop distrubtors tell them what they must sell the pop for or they will charge them more.

Depends on the kids I guess. Some will find it exciting if they are still awake after the first hour :D

I have not seen it yet but our son saw it with some friends of his and about all he said about it was "... it was long"

To me if that is what you are left with I do not care if is it in the theater or DVD I doubt if I will waste the time with it.

Wow I thought the pre-views for King Kong looked good, I am glad to hear about the reviews.
Three hours does seem long, I would probably drink three $5.50 soda pops, I thought kids would have loved it, I'm glad to know it was to violent to take my younger ones, my middle boy scares easy.
I can't get Penny out of my mind, She's a real hottie! Looks like King Kong will have wait.
