Is this digital era almost everytime you sign up for a web site they want you come up with a screen name, a nome de plume for the computer age. In seeing some of the interesting names here I oftened wondered how did you come up with that name. So, how about describing how we came up with our names...

Airborne = A Soldier who jumps out of a plane into combat.
Soldier = A person in the U.S. Army

Hence Airborne Soldier, since I am and do...

In doing this hopefully we can get to know our friends a little better.

Hubby & I originally signed on together, and the song was playing at the time, so it just worked. Ends up he lost interest in the site, and hardly anyone knows the song...but I still love the name!!

I originally signed up using my MySpace name and quickly decided that was a crummy idea. So I re-signed up and 'Hellbilly' was the first name that popped in my head that sounded kind of cool.

The name comes from a Hank Jr. song. Rob Zombie also has co-opted the term. (I like both those guys) The handle is kind of unique but common enough that I don't worry too much about getting Googled.

It reveals a little of my personality and myself without really saying that much--which kind of fit into my initial impression of this site: a place where people say and reveal some really personal things while tenaciously clinging to their anonymity.

The only drawback to the handle is that about 3 weeks after joining this site, I found out that on MySpace there's this 40-something-year-old KKK fanboy, who lives pretty close to me, who's using the same name.
