Being from the U.K I have never heard of many of the places (mainly U.S & Canadian) often mentioned on this site.

I thought this would be a good way of sharing with each other information of places where we live, work or have visited.

It is also a good way of travelling the world without having to endure passport control.

Simple format:

I will start off with my home town the city of Manchester the next place begins with the last letter of that place the letter R in this case.

Please feel free (if you wish) to include a personal thought or memory of the place you are submitting.

OK then Manchester: I have lived and worked in Manchester all of my life except for 2 years working in London. Manchester is in the north west of England and is the 3rd biggest city in the country. It is world famous for sport mostly Football (soccer), Boxing and Cricket.

Many famous musical acts hail from the city too.

I will reel of a few of them here

Oasis, The Hollies, The Stone Roses, The Bee Gees, The Chemical Brothers, 10CC, The Buzzcocks, Doves, Elbow, The Smiths M People and many many more.

I grew up in Roblin Manitoba....very small town in central Manitoba. Lived there for the first 18 years of my life before moving to Alberta. It is a farming community and has some great fishing spots.

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised there. We moved to Indiana, still near Cincinnati, but more in the country. When I was 16, I swore I was moving far away to California to be near the ocean. I bought a house in Indiana and live 30 seconds away from my Mom and Dad. Ironic, huh? I like it here, neighbors aren't too close or too far. School district is good. Community is caring and giving. I have been to Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. In a month I will be taking the kids to Key West and Cozumel in Mexico. Once I get my mortgage paid in a few more years, I hope to take the kids to Fiji, Paris, London, Australia, Alaska, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, and China. Next month is their fist plane trip, so hopefully, they are good travelers.

I grew up in the very small town of Manchester Massachusetts. It is known for the singing beach, where as you walk across the sand it makes noise. It is only one of three beaches with such sand in the world.

I know live only a few miles to the west in a town call Hamilton. This was the home of general G. Patton, his family still lives in town. It is also know for the many number of horse farms and riding clubs.
