what sort of things do we like to do now that we did as kids?

here a few of mine

playing chasings around the house...having a good rumble on the floor

lots of tickling, and laugh so much that your belly hurts

playing in the dirt, would love to have a mud fight with someone..

getting out a music dvd and letting myself rock and roll.....strumming the kids guitar...

enjoying kids movies...

Love playing in the dirt. Love chasing around the house. Rolling down the hill in the front yard. If feels good until you try to get up :)

Well, my boys and I have a lot of fun playing cars, and wrestling / ufc style fighting / karate. My boys are really rough with me and they love to fight with Dad. They think they can take me. Or, board games, they love board games...

My boys and I usually play football, or those mindless nintendo/X-box games. The fella's at the firehouse like to play bullshit (card game) which I think is kinda childish, especially cuz I couldn't bullshit anyone and I always lose.

Covert Ops, my friend in High School drove a Gremlin, and they had cool gas caps, but people would steal them. So we drove around town hunting for gas caps for his gremlin and would take them off other cars. Would enjoy doing stuff like that now!

I like going to recess with the kids... When i was teaching I broke my finger while playing kick ball...... I had to have my wedding rings cut off. My students thought it was pretty funny.....

OUCH!!! Back when I was a welder I didn't like wearing gloves--mainly because thick leather gloves make it hard to hold a cigerette.

Once I had a cherry (little splatter of molten metal) land on my wedding band. Gold, it turns out, is a really good conductor of heat.

I got the ring off without cutting it but I had blisters all around that part of my finger. Hurt like hell to say the least.

And no, after that I still wouldn't wear gloves. But I did stop wearing my ring to work.

Great thread... way to many to list. Soccer, baseball with the kids, bug hunting.... well creepy crawly hunting really. go carts, air rifles, tag, coloring, soooo many to list, but i gotta get out and play now.

merry-go-rounds -- gotta love getting dizzy without booze ;-)

jumping into leaf piles in the fall,

Playing in the creek and coming back so muddy that we have to hose off first,

Imagining you are a super-hero and dressing the part ... I'll leave that one there ..

Life ... You get little pink and blue people to put in your car. Oh, and you get to start off with a car for free. You get to choose your occupation, and the moves are determined by chance. That Life was actually fun ... and you could WIN ....

Aged 6, I used to pretend to be T.Rex – bounding around the kitchen searching for something to munch on. Elbows tight to my sides, short bent front "legs”, I’d open cupboards and shift things about, growling hungrily - like I imagined a T.Rex might growl. Really, this was just a ploy to be allowed more cakes. And, it would work. The pursuit would end with a high-toned "oooh, snacks!" when I found something. Well, aged 38, I still do this while in privileged company. Indeed, they might play along and hide the stash. Experience tells me snacks taste better when one is pretending to be a T.Rex.

Desperate for a drink? Pour one out, get your T.Rex arms ready - grab glass. Make low, growly noises “oooh, thirsty”...lift drink to mouth using extended claws, slurp, gargle, wipe face, burp - if you can get away with it. Beat chest. Works best with beer…

Now and again, T.Rex reads the dino news. Cardboard box over his head, T.Rex arms poking out of the corners, T.Rex gets serious and sublime. Children find it most entertaining….or they run off crying.

There are other T.Rex adventures, but, heh – don’t think so. Needless to say, T.Rex has been blamed for a few incidents around the house!

Apart from that, I'm perfectly mature and well-adjusted…(T.Rex fingers hardly ever grace this keyboard)

My kids love to play hide n go screech.
same idea as the usual hide n go seek, cept when mom finds them they just have to scream and see if my ears really do bleed.

when it is nice and warm, and not breezy, we have air battles.
we make paper airplanes and do side bets, on whos can fly the furthest, whos can knock whos out of the sky first etc.

marbles, gotta love the classics.

jacks were banned out of the house when I stepped on one at 2 in the morning with a bare foot.

I like playing hide n go seek. I play Boo, where I try to scare my kids at any possible moment.The quiet game, see who can be the quietest the longest time.I like playing Sony. And that gameboy thing.

During a really intense argument with my wife, I like to play "don't blink" ... I almost always lose the argument but I rock at that game.... then again I never tell her I am playing it.... gotta win something, just makes me feel that much better

Hide and go seek in the dark house. Kids have flashlights and it is soooo much fun to hide and then scare them to death!! It is the best when they fall down giggling ... after the scream of course.

Paintball is a hoot!! Bad thing is that we didn't have those growing up. Used to play MOCK war at recess and on the farm ... great fun. Dirt Clods were our ammo ...

Good thing I don't let the girls play paint ball.
I could see it now, all of my goats would be running around with multi colored spots ROFLMAO

I had a snowball fight yesterday with them, when we get some more we are gonna make a snow fort and pair off.
That should be lots of fun!

I'm not sure how much this is a kid's game, but I play a fps (first person shooter) called Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. Since there are teens playing it, I'm submitting that it qualifies for this thread. It hearkens back to the days when I'd run around the neighborhood with my replica Daniel Boone musket defending American from invaders. This is online shooting virtual enemies who, in this case, are shooting back at me.

It's just addictive.
