The Official Boston Red Sox Thread of Mourning

Last night the baseball season ended for me when the Rays beat the Sox. Every time a baseball season ends, a part of me dies. If I am lucky I will get to see and (and remember) 80 baseball seasons. Another one bites the dust.

If you share my pain, post your greatest pain from this season, and your best memory.

My best memory was watching Jon Lester throw a no-hitter. Greatest pain was watching Jason Varitek strike out three times in game 7.

And so the winter begins.

Well lets just say that now that Mike Lowell has had his surgery...lets hope he is ready for spring training!!!
The Sox did not play like the team they are throughout the ALCS...and all us Sox fans know it!!!
May things be better next season!!!!!!

I don't see why there is a need to mourn.

They had a great season, they did what only 4 teams can say they did this season which is pretty impressive in my book.

Best of luck to those that made it to the World Series and we'll see you there next year.

hey, I would be pissed too if my team dropped $130 million on payroll and lost to a team that can only afford $44 million. At least you finished ahead of the Yankees...that should count for something. ;)

I would bet that the Rays take the Phillies in 6 games, but then you would have to keep that silly avatar for another few weeks, and that just wouldn't be nice.

From an avid (and I do mean avid!) Red Sox fan-remember we forced a game 7! It could have ended a lot worse on Thursday night! (Does 7-0 ring a bell?) Tampa Bay played great baseball through the whole ALCS and after the dismal year they had last year they deserve it!

Now I say-Go Devil Rays and beat those Phillies!

I am not a huge sports fan at all...I watch a bit of hockey but I have to say....in Baseball, I love the Boston Red Sox. I live no where near them but if I had to choose a team, they would be it. I liked them even before they won the World's Series a couple years ago (see? I can't even tell you exactly what year...i only know they won 2 years in a row!). ANyways, I feel for you Brandon!! I was watching the games the past couple nights and was sad that they lost. I thought they were going to pull it off. :sry

I did all of my mourning yesterday. I'm over it. I will be rooting for the Rays. They remind me of the 03 Marlins when they beat the Yankees. They are a bunch of young kids that love to play.
So when is the equipment truck leaving for spring traing......?

Not so much. I don't mind losing nearly so much as I hate the fact that the season is over. Thats a much easier pill to swallow when the seasons end is celebrated with a parade.
