I have never commuted by car for work all my working life until this job for the past 1.5 years or so.. I used to understand the term rush hour but now I really get the stress of just sitting for 50-60 minutes when the drive should take 20-25 minutes. I listen to tons of audiobooks or NPR or classical music : all this keeps me awake! Believe it or not.

So I observe people in other cars... Some times people smile when you let them into your lane & people smile at the sticker at...

So here's a pet peeve since I was 16. I never get the guy I really really really want. I'm always the "cute & fun" one.. Never the mysterious sultry, seductive person I imagine my alter ego should be... But my alter ego is a horny 19 yr old boy who maybe watches porn.. What I'm trying to say is... I always get lumped into the "friend zone". I've never seen a consistent "you are the hottest woman I've known artemis. Let's enact 50 shades of grey scenes!" Damn it...

Some "x" number of years ago, I was living in a city where I had no car & lived entirely with public transport & my trusty bicycle. I could bike 6.2 miles (10 km) one way to work or take a train & a bus. At some point I had to move apartments within this city.. My hubby & I decided to rent a car just for the move... But... the stuff that need moving needed to be packed in boxes. Boxes... Simple cardboard boxes. I had a bunch at work, colleagues saved me some more, all flattened...

I PMed a few people I've grown super super fond of before taking off from here for a while... And then I started noticing things around me, in my real life & saw how much this community has helped me..

I found my confidence, a feeling of belonging, this community with all it's pitfalls & it's abstract quality has given me so much... I've had a few very powerful relationships with guys I met here, and friendships with people whom I admire immensely, my list is long and all...
