What do you and your spouse do for fun?

So you've eaten dinner and the dishes are done. The kiddos are off doing their own thing leaving you and your spouse together alone. What kinds of activities things do married couples actually do in this scenario?

I'm not talking about sex or making out. I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has figured out how to make this time more engaging / fun. Do you have a conversation? Play a board game? Or do you just sit in front of the television exhausted from a day of work / chores?

Watch action movies till he falls asleep in 15 minutes into the movie or
Play scrabble.. We are competitive (been a few months) or
Two separate computers in 2 separate rooms (him working & me playing.. Here!) or
Talk, laugh lots & try to watch 2001 Space Odyssey yet again & both fall asleep in 10 minutes Or

Laughing...just..laughing 03-03-2014 09:03 AM

Somewhere between popping his back pimples to just sitting side by side watching tv. Bonding.

Talking about our day and watching tv, play on interweb doesn't everyone do that. :sg

Littlelady31 03-03-2014 10:31 AM

Watch tv, play cards sometimes....we try to talk more...play video games together...

SusanG 03-03-2014 11:17 AM

Once upon a time....took walks, played recreational sports, watched movies together

We used to play video games together. Sometimes we'll watch shows together but more times than not, we just do our own things, if he's even home.

That's what I was wondering... are there couples out there that do something more. Surely there is more to life than watching tv together.

Littlelady31 03-03-2014 01:54 PM

Think there should be...but it's easy to spend your days exhausted and too busy to spend quality time together. Probably would make a big difference to plan to do fun stuff...hmm

I can think of fun things to do but just not with spouse

msu 03-03-2014 01:57 PM

We still scratch backs most every night....and we both revel in watching what our kids do these days. So, so proud. :)

Littlelady31 03-06-2014 01:16 PM

Upon further reflection we don't spend much time together....

I usually get home late after 10-12 hours at the office. I make myself a TV dinner and eat alone. Then my wife spends 30 minutes venting about something, to which I nod my head and utter "that's terrible" at appropriate times. Then she usually works on her computer doing stuff for her job and I go to my office (aka "man cave") to read news and write email. Then she usually goes to bed early and sometimes even says goodnight beforehand. Then I go look at some porn and whack off.

You know, just your usual married couple quality time.

Nothing really I hate to say it. Watch TV is about it. We don't really have many interests in common.

She pretends to not be drinking, and I pretend not to notice she's drinking. ** pure bliss**

Enigma77 03-06-2014 06:55 PM

I'm usually sleeping by the time he gets home..

hijiller 03-06-2014 07:34 PM

I grow basil, and he enjoys the pesto.

He meditates and I enjoy the silence.

oldandnaked 03-06-2014 07:37 PM

Go to separate rooms

rj1002 03-09-2014 11:10 PM

It's funny. I know that there was a time that we did things together, but it's long enough ago that I don't remember. It's lonely living alone in a house with someone else, isn't it?

Violetsrblue 03-09-2014 11:57 PM

we work out, sometimes cook together, share funny links, talk about our day, go out for drinks or food, movies, play cards...we have fun together. :)

Mike Honcho 03-10-2014 12:08 AM

Get away from each other.

Iceburn 03-10-2014 05:40 AM

We pretty much do everything together..she's my best friend..as well as my wife :) I have to point out though..launching ourselves down a drop slide together didnt work out so well? :lmao :D

Shallowhal 03-10-2014 10:28 AM

Cards or watch tv. Sometimes she'll go to bed and watch.
