Something to smile about

What if we see things in the news that lift our spirits? Maybe we can share them here.

this is what got me today and I thought you might enjoy seeing it too.

Mariah Slick, Student With Down Syndrome, Crowned Homecoming Queen In Texas (VIDEO)

What made you feel good about the world today?

geeze, two hours and no one else has seen anything happy in the news.

why is that? are we only interested in blood, gore and movie stars?

I don't watch the news, but when I do I never find anything good... I promise to look though... It's always been a big complaint of mine, that there is not a lot of good stuff

good news from science

Pay as you go solar power makes energy cheaper - tech - 30 September 2011 - New Scientist

imagine not being anywhere near an electric grid and having to use kerosene in 2011 as only source to read by.

not having light continues the cycle of poverty and low rates of illiteracy.

what's the saying? where there's life, there's hope?

and where there's light, there's a better life?

this may not be the best solution, but it's good to know that the problem is not ignored.

I've decided to look for good news everyday.

I saw this on the local news on Friday. The woman in the video hears her voice for the first time. It reminded me to take nothing for granted.

Weiner woes?

HOT BEEF INFECTION

"I was assigned to examine a patient with stomach pain. The woman turned out to be my high school classmate, but instead of being happy to see me, she was mortified. She confessed she wasn't suffering from stomach pain but had gotten something 'stuck.' Hours earlier, she'd microwaved a frozen hot dog to use as a sex toy. But heating it had softened the hot dog, and it broke off inside her. I removed it, though I doubt she'll look me in the eye at our next reunion!"

told by an ER doctor.

MONEY

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.

A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need but it's on sale.

BATHROOMS

A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel.

The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.

ARGUMENTS

A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument

I am going to be posting happy news here as long as there are people who need a little lift. If you come across something positive about people or the news, please share with us!
