How do you relieve stress?

I'm just curious. I know that this site is wonderful for friendships and a place to talk to people to help de-stress, but what else do you do?

For me I try to play the piano, that helps me shut everything out and relax.

I read or run while listening to music..it helps a lot!

Barkiss 05-12-2008 12:37 PM

Read, write, cook or work in the garden...

So, you're going to cook me dinner ,while writing me a poem and then you'll read it to me, while planting a flower in the garden for me?

I feel stress free already!

dicksr4chicks 05-12-2008 12:44 PM

I like to work on the car. I also do some cooking

I analyze the stress giving thoughts because I know emotions do not result stress.

I run, if it gets really bad. Something about pounding the pavement, or the trail just really helps me to let off steam.

If its just minor annoyances, or if I feel myself start to get tense... masterbation works wonders. ;)

Torin,I see you run away in both cases..Sit down somewhere and wait..It passes.Observe it only and yourself.

I run too.. I think being able to physically work the stress out is quite productive and healthy. Plus, when I run, I'm able to be alone with my thoughts, my breath and work through whatever is stressing me. By the time I'm done; it's usually all worked out, I've worked out and I feel great.

dixiechik 05-12-2008 01:30 PM

The way I did this morning!:ok

WandaRing 05-12-2008 01:55 PM

Well sex is out for me, at least for now...so I work-out or go for a walk along the beach or take a hike in the woods. Lots of deep breathing and grounding helps when you need something right now.

Mojo,ok.but it comes back again. The best way is to dispute the stress giving thoughts..Because our thinking make us stressful said Epictetus 2000 years ago.

Stress... hmm well usually i bury myself in the studio, make some tracks.. they usually suck when I am not in a good mood... but its therapeutic ... sometimes i go out back and just wrestle with the 2 dogs... that always makes me feel like a kid. Then there is always the bike ride, but fat kid is outta shape!!
