Why are you still here?

Reading Bryan's comment made me ponder a question.... for the long term vets? Why are you still here? I'm kind of curious.

Awake My Soul 08-23-2016 03:48 PM

As a long term vet, I'm still here to expand my music knowledge by hanging out in the music threads.

Intotheabyss 08-23-2016 03:49 PM

Really I don't know.

southern1 08-23-2016 03:50 PM

I signed a long term contract that I can't get out of.

Arcon 08-23-2016 03:51 PM

Because there are a few here I call friend and I enjoy talking with them.

Just A Girl 08-23-2016 03:54 PM

I've made some genuine friendships as a result of this site. I found my people.
Once in awhile, things get a lil dicey and I go "WTF am I still doing in this hell hole?"
But the truth is that it is what you make it and as long as I stay outta the petty nonsense, I can enjoy my friendships, flirtations and relationship - with no stress.

artemis 08-23-2016 03:54 PM

Gabs, apparition, Iceburn, Bluesky1234, a few more people..actually it's a long list with some crazy people who love donuts & bacon

Marley075 08-23-2016 03:55 PM

I come and go depending how busy I am at work. I am lucky enough to have lots of free time in my job and I've been to the end of the internet in that free time...twice. This place isn't the worst landing spot for the bored. I can't get into Reddit and am not crazy enough to delve into 4chan, so more than anything it's a safe and sane place. I'm also convinced that as soon as I leave, something phenomenal is going to happen around here and I'd miss it. Plus I'm 3 cyber bangs away from advancing a level.

BlueSky1234 08-23-2016 03:56 PM

Because of the friendships I have made on and off the site. I get bored now and again posting in the same threads but that's life.

Like Marley I used to have tons of time I could be here... Job change along with some life changes I kinda had to pull back a bit... Even then I peeked in now n then. Lena usually yanks my leash if I venture to far
Bottom line for me, it's kinda like family and the site is something I care very much for so I feel obligated to help when I can as it got me through a pretty rough patch in my life ... Was a much looked forward distraction and along the way I was able to develop a respect for some brilliant people who dazzle with the written wit

SunnyD 08-23-2016 04:01 PM

I think the "vets" that have made it to the other side probably all still come here for the entertainment value. If I liked going to the mall I'd go there and people watch, but I've normally got just as good of a view from here.

This is so true. We've all known each other for so long, in all the different phases of our lives, it's become very much like a family.

Great answer. Kind of why I joined. Carry on. This is all very interesting.

We have a few .... Cooties or Ice I think have the crown

FlowerGirl228 08-23-2016 04:18 PM

Because I have no social life , and if I have to watch what the other house resident does on TV , I would become a drunk , or a danger to myself or someone else. This place is safer.
